Apparently this update brings a ton of new features such as:

-New notification toggles
-Customizable notification toggles
-Brightness slider can now be disabled
-The ability to disable Multi-View
-Browser improvements
-Status bar is now black
-Continuous input keyboard
-New ink effect on lockscreen
-New Group Cast app

Still no update on my VZN Note 2. Does this news assume VZN has already signed off on this update or does it still have to pass VZN's SLOW authorization process?

It's only for the International Versions. It will still be a while before Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile approve the updates. Knowing Verizon they will probably remove some features from that update as well.

Maybe I'm missing something or maybe they are adding more of it.. but the Ink Effect is already on my Verizon Note II. So is Group Cast. I'm not sure what functionality the continuous input keyboard is referring to... Verizon has it built in. I've actually found myself using it after uninstalling Swype from my previous phones. The Note II has been the best on-screen keyboard I've ever had... which is a relief since I traded up a hardware keyboard for this.

Actually my 4g speeds for AT&T where I live are around the same or faster then my GF's Verizon phone. LTE seems big red is a little quicker.

Edit- And I'm not trying to knock big red, I just don't know why they would delay and not include certain nice features.
My mistake. Your post sure came across as knocking "big red".

Consider yourself lucky you are in an area that has good service from AT&T. I travel a lot and have found that "big red" has by FAR the most reliable service when you're ououtside of major metro areas and interstate highways.

I'm not knocking AT&T, they have many virtues, but for me it would render my N2 little more than a big iPod in many of the places I travel to due to their spotty coverage.

Kansas seems to have great coverage across all the carriers luckily, but I do agree Verizon has great coverage in the city and is way ahead most outside the major metro areas. I had Verizon for three years and the only reason I switched is my job offers 25% off ATT monthly.

I have AT&T and it is awful EVEN inside some major metro areas LOL. Just about everyone in the greater Los Angeles area could tell you that Verizon data (4G or LTE) is far superior to AT&T's. At some place, my AT&T 4G was downloading at 0.9 Mbps. The best I have seen logged was about 20 Mbps, but at the same spot (at a restaurant), my brother's Verizon iPhone 5 was at 35 Mbps. I don't really care much about speed, as long as I get over 2 or 3 Mbps. But at my home, AT&T has 2 bars of signal and Verizon has 5 bars. I just cannot switch because at any one time 2 or 3 of my 5 phones are on contract. I just don't want to pay over $600 termination fee. Also I am grandfathered for unlimited data. I am pretty much stuck.

This is the ONLY reason I continue to stay with AT&T. Their service in the DC Metro area is VERY spotty. I can get decent 4G speeds in some places but drive 15 minutes away and I'm down to a 2 bar connection. I despise AT&T to the utmost. The moment they fcuk with my unlimited data plan, I'm heading to Big Red. I hate them too but at least their service is far superior to that of AT&T's.

The only feature I see in that list that the Verizon Note 2 has is the ability to disable Multi View.

Oh ok.. then I'm not seeing blue ink in water on my lock screen when I touch it with my S Pen or the toggle on/off option in Settings for it. I'm not moving my finger from key to key on the keyboard to type. I'm not seeing Group Cast in my App drawer.

I don't think my AT&T note II has group cast, but I do have continuous input keyboard and ink effect. I remember reading somewhere that some of the US Note II got extra 4.2 like features added in. I know keyboard was one of them.

If you get good coverage where you tend to use the phone and a better financial deal, I don't blame you for wanting to stick with what you've got.
