Eris owners: R U switching? (incredible due 4/29!!)

I have an NE2 sitting on my account just waiting, but I think it will stay there until we start seeing 4G phones.

I think this is the smartest reason given. We all know 4G is coming up as Verizon is putting in the new system. The Eris has only been out since November, it's a great phone, and the Incredible, Droid, and Nexus One will be way outdated once the 4G phones start coming.

And those that jump and get a new phone ALREADY will be complaining again in four to five months, "I should have waited..."

Well, if you've got the hundreds of dollars to just blow on new phones every few months, or have it worked out using other people's NE2 program.

I come from a VERY different perspective. I have been using cell phones for about 10 years, now. In those ten years, I have had a total of 3 cell phones. The first one was a regular (non-flip) phone, phone calls and a few simple games. My second one was a very early flip phone that could actually use ringtones bought through AT&T, but not personal/custom ringtones. I went from that to the Eris in January.

I like to enjoy my cell phones for a few years before moving on. :)

Why worry about it. Whatever you buy will be outdated three months later, so why not wait for the "next big thing" ?:D

Yes. Quite telling that Verizon is sporting an "every two months" new phone eligibility gimmick now. ;)

The old 50s TV commercial had just a photo of the product and the words "BUY! BUY! BUY!" flashing on the screen above and below it.

I'll just wait for the "Incredible II" or whatever super-phone is out next year.

I'd like it to be 4G with a 2GHz processor, 128GB flash drive (8GB internal) and a battery that lasts a week under Heavy use...

I'm waiting for the HTC SUPERDUPERPHONE with 10G, a 4GHz octocore processor, 2TB flash drive (500GB internal) and a battery that lasts 10 years.

My upgrade was eligible in February. Back in November when the Eris came out I knew that it would be the phone I would be getting. Then I learned of the Nexus 1 and then the Incredible. I waited about 4 weeks for the Mobile Conference and no news of the Incredible. With the buy one get one free deal for the Eris it was too much of a good to pass up 2 phones for only $80.

I figured I would just upgrade and either find a way to use my insurance or just pay full price for the Incredible. Verizon will let me do a 1 time upgrade whenever I like on top of my annual upgrades. I think I might wait a few months and see if there are any bugs or issues with it then decide exactly what I would like to do.

What will be really funny is if the Incredible drops on the 29th and the Eris still is waiting for the OTA to 2.1....
