Treasury Sells Last of AIG Stock. Bailout Results in $23B Profit to Taxpayers

Me neither, vested interests everywhere. In many parts of the world the financial system has the state by the balls, one needs only look at the City in the UK.

It appears Ireland got conned by the banks per the tapes being published by the Irish Independent with the Anglo Irish banksters, they do sound like mobsters.

The former CEO has fled to the US, perhaps to seek asylum in the land where mobsters are called "job creators".

Don't hold your breath, but do make your wishes known to your elected officials, and vote against the ones who favor the banks over you.

Good luck with that as you might have trouble find one you can vote for :D

As the crash, the bank bailouts and the subsequent total absence of new, effective bank regulatation across the world amply demonstrated, politicians are completely in the pockets of the bankers.

Also, while the right are more guilty of this generally, the rest are not much better - the Republicans may have blocked virtually all attempts at bank regulation, but the regulations they blocked had already been rendered pathetically ineffective by banker lobbying anyway.

What's even worse is that bankers effectively used bail out money given to them to lobby goverments NOT to bail out anyone else!

In completely unrelated news, many trading banks test prospective employees in order to identify candidates with sociopathic / psychopathic tendencies as, having no conscience, they make better dealers ..

Perhaps these trading banks would be a practical means for the FBI to test their training methods.:security:

FBI — The Corporate Psychopath

"Investigators should familiarize themselves with the typical traits and characteristics of psychopaths. They must understand the manipulation techniques used to create and manage the psychopathic bonds established with victim organizations. Their reputations, as judged by those in power with whom they have bonded, known as patrons, often provide added protection from closer investigation. As a result, the investigator may need to build a case with management for the use and broad application of more sophisticated techniques."

:D

Actually, many boardrooms would work, too.

I heard an interview with a leading researcher in the area. He has a theory that many leading business people have strong psychopathic tendencies* so went around testing a bunch of them. Apparently, one of the leading indicators on the standard test for psychopathy is rampant egotism. One of his subjects insisted the test be conducted sitting under a 8 feet high potrait of himself :D

* very interesting theory that would explain so very much - you should check it out ;)

Oh - and BTW, a vastly disproportionate percentage turned out to be psychopaths

Wisdom from Psychopaths?: Scientific American

Studies of psychopaths have even revealed a brain signature for this relative indifference to setbacks. Anthropologist James Rilling of Emory University and his co-workers scanned the brains of those scoring high in psychopathy after these individuals experienced having their own attempts to cooperate unreciprocated. The scientists discovered that, compared with
