GET IN HERE IF U WAS TOLD U WAS RECEIVING PHONE ON THE 10th?

Ok, try to understand this.

Every phone that T-Mo releases, is boxed in 2 separate configurations, with one VERY small difference. One includes a SIM card, the other does not. The ones that include a SIM card, are reserved for new customers. The ones that do not ... well, those are for customers like you and I. I don't foresee you having to wait all the way until 11/10. I was told I would get mine 10/29, however I got it yesterday 10/21. Relax ... the world isn't going to end.

I was told that i was getting my G1 on November 10th and i got it on Monday early Morning.. I mean they did sell 1.5 million on a pre order for a T mobile customer service rep to go into ups and track your specific order may be too much of a hassel so they are just telling everyone the uniform response back order blah blah blah NOvember 10 i was heart broken last week when they told me that but to my surprise UPS showed up Monday with the PHone.. T mobile is just overwhelmed with calls about the G1 they did not anticipate this kind of following.

T mobile is just overwhelmed with calls about the G1 they did not anticipate this kind of following.


I was also told the 10th, so I am just anxiously waiting for the phone to arrive. I have however been told that the chance of the phone taking that long is a long shot and I will more then likely have it by the end of the month- I was told this by a Tmo rep. I was also told that Tmo is pushing the phones out as fast as they can!

Ok now you all have gone and done it! You have made me even crazier waiting :D! I really hope I am one of the ones that gets theres before the 10th. That would be so cool. But I was also told that the people in 3g network areas will get there phones first. I am in the edge area still :(. They cant give a date as to when my city will be upgraded to 3G. Hopefully soon tho because Kansas City now has 3G and we are the next largest city in Kansas. So heres to hopeing :p

i was goin nuts too for the last few days. Im ok now cause my attn is now focused on the janet jackson concert tonight Tomorrow ill be going crazy again.:eek:

So I called again tonight asking if they knew the 'status' of my phone. Of course, I probally sound like a junkie that is seeking the next fix and can not stop bothering them till I get what I want. :)

Anyway, what the guy on the phone said: regarding the November 10th Date...this is what they have been instructed to provide for a date to recieve the phone, however, it does not mean that you will recieve it as late as the 10th. The people that ordered their phones on October 3rd and 4th are now getting their phones or will have them probally within the week. They are pushing hard to get the phones out, but the phones are being send by order date. So if you ordered on the 5th, I was told that you would probally get your phone before someone that ordered on the 11th and so on.

UPS tracking I am told is the best way to check the status, as we all already know I am sure. :) LOL :p

Sure wish it would arrive..... :cool:

When I got my phone it didn't come with a sime card, when I called aabout activation, they said it was supposed to come with a sim card because they made new ones for the G1. I told her I had my sim card from my sidekick and she said she couldn't activate it on the G1 so I had to go to a tmobile store and get a new sim card.

On the 22nd, my wife walked into Tmobile, bought a G1 for me, took it home and put it on the charger. When I got home from work I took the sim card out of my Nokia 5300, put it in the G1, logged into my gmail account and have been fine ever since. I never talked to a rep but my Wife did renew my contract. We have been with Tmobile for years and I was up for a new phone almost a year ago. BTW it still only cost me the same 179 + tax as online. I don't know why they won't let you just walk into Tmo and buy it. Bad CS to me. I would expect better from Big Pinky

i just called tmobile and the rep told me that i will not be receiving my g1 until nov 10th and then i was told that i was on the second batch, he promised me that the 10th was the latest i would receive it by and that i could be surprised and get it earlier, i really hope there is no delay or im going to lose my mind.

As a T-Mobile rep we are told Nov 10 at the absolute latest, most have already shipped or are pending as of today. We don't know what "batches" we can either see a tracking number or not, that's about it. Want to check your order status? Enter your phone number with dashes (xxx-xxx-xxxx) into UPS as a Reference number - no need to call T-Mobile every day we've had crazy high call volumes for G1 orders as it is.

As for new activations, yes they ship right away. Sales is a completely different entity with their own warehouse and own systems. Upgrades are swamped from the mass amounts of pre-orders.

The G1 should include a SIM card with every phone, however sometimes they are left out for weird reasons unknown to me. You can use any sim card, however if you're activating a NEW LINE then you have to use a new sim card.

SIM Cards once activated are only good for 60 days after being deactivated and swapping them to another phone number (SIM Reuse Form) takes 24 hours and can only be done though Customer Care (Activations CAN do it but they usually will just transfer them to us anyway cuz they're lazy)
