Who's using Google Wallet on their nexus 4?

It works just like it did on my Galaxy Nexus.. not the Verizon version

I haven't actually used it yet, but I did set up my account on it. I'm itching to try it out though.

I've used it a lot. I love using it, and love some of the looks I get from cashiers (especially the ones with the shiny new iPhones )

Yes I have been using it a lot actually! I use it to buy my red bulls and beer at my local handee mart!

That's what I thought too, but there are actually a lot of places once you start looking. Just look for the MasterCard PayPass logo or symbol on a little pad attached to the card terminal. There is a lot more than I thought.

So far I have used mine at: Jack in the Box, McDonald's, Office Depot, and Chevron. And I really don't shop much.

I really want to set it up, just worried about all the nonsense I hear with it being really dangerous and that people can link into your account and stuff. Even if you wipe the device and what not.

However I'd really love to use it in Macy's while Xmas shopping...lol

I don't understand the concern people have. Your card information is stored in the cloud from what I understand. Also when you use Google Wallet you have to enter a PIN number the same as using a debit card. IMO using a credit card that doesn't require a PIN to use is less secure than Wallet.

Plus, what are you more likely to lose, a card or wallet, or your phone? I know me personally my phone is almost never out of my possession or sight.

Yup. I've always been a fan of using a phone as my wallet. I'm not one to set my phone down and walk away. It's pretty much always in my pocket or within reach.

Back when I had an iPhone, I had a slim case that had a slot for two cards. I loved it. ID and one card, all I needed, no need for a wallet.

I love the Starbucks app. No need to carry a SBUX card with you anymore, just scan the phone.

This ties all that together. I definitely plan on utilizing this feature early and often.

I had the same type of case on my blackberry when I had it. I am looking forward to the day when a smartphone can completely replace all cards and IDs. Google Wallet is definitely a step in the right direction.

Charlie I switch phones like underwear, I'm just concerned that the info doesn't get wiped if I sell the phone..I guess its a legitimate concern?

Other then that, I'm all for it! My phone goes everywhere with me...

Go to wallet.google.com and on the left you will see devices...
You can disable any device that has ever been linked to the account from there.

So, when you sell your phone you can disable it there.

Also, it is off if your screen is off or locked. To use Google Wallet your screen has to be on and unlocked (won't work if you have a pin, password, face unlock, etc set until you are unlocked)

Following the "Learn more ..." link only leads to a circuitous offering: "To use it in-store, you need an NFC enabled phone." which I certainly have with NFC enabled in Settings, even though it's not pictured there. The "Download App" button merely takes me back to the Store showing that the app is already installed.

The question is, how is the installation recognized so that I can disable it if needed, as you suggest?

Thank you, I did find that I hadn't started the widget that took me through the setup process. My confusion arose from the fact that I had used the account online several times (purchase the phone, apps etc.), the app was marked as "Installed" in the Play Store, yet I couldn't find find it in Settings->Apps ... locating the widget and selecting it was the key to the puzzle.

The test will be in the using of it. Although it now appears in https://wallet.google.com/manage/#devices: , on-screen there is a one-liner claiming "/!\ Unsupported device.", probably due to being rooted with a custom ROM.
