Time to update your recovery and make a new backup.

Issues have been noted with CMW, resulting in a corrupt file system every time you format a partition (or clear cache). Similar (but not quite as bad) issues have been noticed with TWRP.

The "official" fix is to install the latest version of whatever recovery you prefer CWM6 or TWRP 2.3.2.3 (via Goo Manager), create a backup in recovery, then use Acmeuninstaller to remove Android and reinstall CM9 or CM10 with the same recovery version, then restore your backup.... (I know, a lot of work.)

Bear in mind that CM10 is not officially endorsed right now (it's still in the preview status). So even tho people like me are using it without issue, and it's expected to make "nightly" status before long, there could still be issues requiring you to return to stock and start over.

If you always used Acme installer to install CM9 OR if you never used recovery to clear the cache or install anything, you might be ok by just updating your recovery.

Whether you go the official route (or just run Acme3 with an empty cminstall folder and take a risk of corrupting your install like I did ), you should at least be on the latest recovery. Bear in mind that some versions of CWM and TWRP only work with backups created with the same version of recovery, which is why the "official" route says to update to the latest recovery, create a recovery backup and later restore it with the same version. Note: backups created by TWRP and CWM cannot be restored by the other (CWM/TRWP) program.

CWM6 can be installed by flashing it from recovery, and TWRP 2.3.2.3 is available in Goo Manager (tap the menu button and choose "install openrecovery script"). If CWM is installed, TWRP usually replaces it.

Question I posed on another site, but hoping you can help with an answer... I used an older laptop when I originally installed Android (CM9) on my TP. Since then I replaced the laptop. Do I need to reinstall all of the original programs I used to install Android on my new laptop for any reason?

I haven't updated to ACME3 yet, but plan to, and that upcoming task inspired the question about my laptop. Do I use the laptop for any reason to run ACMEuninstaller and then reinstalling ACME3?

NM... just reinstalled everything onto my laptop.

You need novacom installed to run acme. The guide link I posted above will tell you how to install that.

Thanks... and yes, I did install Novacom and followed the steps that Roland Deschains suggests (ACMEdeinstaller, ACMEinstaller2, ACMEinstaller3) over into a Palm Inc subdirectory that Novacom added to my laptop's Program subdirectory.

I am really happy with how my TP currently works (SGA's FnC with working cameras) but curious as to how JB runs on the TP. A bit hesitant to make the change (sorta scary to uninstall everything, then reinstall to get the storage space needed to run JB) but at some point I know I should just do it (in the works of Nike).

JB on the TP is not quite ready for Prime Time, they are still preview releases and not all TP features are working. I'd give it a few more weeks, it sounds like they are getting close.

There's a new version of CWM recovery, but there's no reason to update if you updated to the 12/12 release.

There's no change to CWM itself. I repackaged it so it will install properly with ACMEInstaller*
