i dont have clock word mode and nothing... only the stock recovery of acer... i was searching for an rom to put on my sd card for the a500 read it, but anyone works, its starts to load... but in the middle of the process shows the red triangle -

rafalenz - I have copied part of your PM to this thread, so that others may be able to offer help or, if in future someone else has the same problem, they could find an answer.

When you say that you are trying to find a ROM to put on your A500, which ROM's are you trying to put on there? If you only have the stock recovery, you would have to try a full stock ROM, not just anything.

I (still) have family at my house at the moment, so can't spend much time on here... if you could let me have some answers, I will try to help you out when I can get back online :)

You have the stock recovery, so would have to use a stock ROM, not a custom ROM. I think this is why things have not been working so far.

i will try this... let see what happens .... luck to mee!!!

Could you advise if this has helped?

Could you respond to my questions? It is only possible to help you if you do that, rather than trying different things and not updating as to how things went.

But i try to install a stock rom from xda forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816560

So my problem starts when, i try to install the beats audio pro driver, when it reinitiated, the tab not comes to live... it stoped in the android logo, than i try to install a rom from sd card, but when it starts to load the red triangle appears, after i try the tutorial that i have mentioned before, and yes im trying in the apx mode as the tutorial explains but i stoped in the step that need the cpu id... i have the numbers but it not works... it say what cpu id was wrong.

Did you unlock the bootloader before flashing a rom?

OK... having watched the video, I have a quick question... when you rooted using the method above, did it work? Did you get the SuperUser app in the app drawer?

I am sure that this would work, as I have used a tool by this guy myself (not for actually rooting, but something else). The method you linked would have rooted the tablet, but would have left the stock recovery, which I don't think can be used to flash custom ROM's.

Hang in there... I will do a bit of digging and see if I can find some info for you! :)

If I understand thing correctly, you still have the stock recovery.

If you head to the XDA thread that you mentioned a couple of posts above (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816560) and scroll down to this part of the second post:

Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3

and download the update that is the 5th one down:

Acer_A500_1.031.00_WW_GEN1

When you have downloaded the zip, do the following:

  • Double click it - it should open... I downloaded the file to make sure and it opened for me :)
  • Rename the zip "update.zip" (without the " ") - you may only have to name it "update", as it should automatically be ".zip"... you don't need to call it "update.zip.zip", as that wouldn't work
  • Once you have renamed the zip, put it on the root of the SD card (not in any folders)
  • Insert the SD card in to the tablet (while it is turned off)
  • Turn on the tablet whilst holding the volume down button

The tablet should start flashing (as I am pretty sure that you still have the stock recovery).

Hopefully, this will work and we will get you back on to stock ICS... we can then work on getting you rooted :)

Let me know how you get on with this :)
