Root for Huawei Ascend Y H866C

question is, does it boot to bootloader/fastboot screen and able to been seen by linux or windows while booted to it??

The Mercury uses a similar method mentioned in the link, unfortunately dude is on crack if he thinks it works on all android, its more like a handful of devices, if that.

and link it broken, but I have seen it b4. ;)

Just recovery mode SD card only. No bootloader, fastboot can't find it, advanced sees it, but is limited in permissions. Have the newest drivers for somne reason it tries topass itself as an android device to windows instead of a phone ask can't find it. Have also tried updating using other model stock images, updates fail.

I dont know if this will help but I got PDANet to work on it. The drivers work on 7. It has the ASR <3e> recovery. im not sure what the app is you are talking about does. to unlock the usb ADB?

If this recovery is on it then clockwork can be flashed SOMEHOW

i dont know if anyone tried the linux xp/7 implementation or "recipe"
but i have the device and im willing to try that programming if anyone wants to try to compile that info for me.

I dont have a live run nor linux here with me. ill keep researching forums and asking question

great work so far guys and happy holidays merry xmas thank you for your efforts and time

Glad to see there's an active user base for this phone, I've been trying to get root on it for the past two weeks now.

If you need any testers or help with ideas let me know, i'll also throw any ideas i have into the mix

I'm not sure how to use it fully yet(still reading up on it) but the CDMA Workshop will connect to the H886c and will allow it to enter "download" mode.

I just installed Linux Mint 13 and will try the above mention guide to rooting "anything" though like someone mentioned there's no way to have a process that will work on anything.
