Hi,

I have been using my samsung galaxy s advance as a mp3 for quiet a while, but I havent seem to find out how I can make folders (or playlists) with my computer.

I use kies air to upload music to my phone, then I place them in folders using my phone. But that always takes a while, since I have to find these songs in my list with over 500 songs.

So how can I make these folders using my laptop instead of my phone?

Thnx :)

If they are on your sd card, connect to PC via usb, mount the card (some phones call it disk drive mode, don't know Sammys) and use your laptop's file explorer to arrange the media as you like.

Thats the mass storage mode. unfortunately, I have already tried this. But still it shows all music, instead of folders.

Thnx for helping though.

I think most audio player apps arrange songs by reading the mp3 tags info. Hence no matter you put it as a folder of songs, it will parse the songs mp3 tags and "arrange" in terms of artist, album etc.

But you want to play songs NOT by mp3 tags but by folders instead am I correct?

Yes indeed. I also connect my phone to my car radio for listening music, so when I'm driving alone I want to select a folder with my favorite music. And when for example the grandparents of my girlfriend are in the car, I want to be able to select and play a music folder with 'normal' songs in it ;) (thats just one of the reasons I make folders, but it takes ages when I need to find and select the songs with my phone to place them in a folder)

the app n7player music player groups all your music together and downloads the proper coverart to it as long as your tags are correct. when you open it up it looks like full albums even if it's only a song or two off the album. each artist albums are grouped together. i too have well over 500+ songs, a lot of full albums and some not. i also use the music online app to download music, you can get it at Music Online

before i started using n7player though i just made my own folders for each artist and put their music in their folder. i used the app itag to make sure the tags were right and a coverart app.
