Hey y'all,

Finally, I can give the FB application four stars ( they would have to really impress me to get an added star.) Anyway, If you haven't visited the Play Store (my apps section) and see that there is an update for this app -- you might wanna do so right now.

I'm pleased with this update. The app is smooth, fast, and looking really good. I'm sure am not the 'ONLY' one who has added a few more stars to this awesome application.

I only wish they would add the copy & paste feature. This would make me give it ten stars (pun intented).

Seriously, though.. I'm glad to see that the Android platform has now gotten an awesome FB Application. One an Androider (like myself) can be proud of.

Oh, and the new way to edit/delete your status is way cool (the three dots on the right side of your status). "Like and Comment" and viewing who liked or comment on your statuses -- now pop up really nicely

Post here and let us know what you think. ;)

I never had FB on my devices with all the bad hype, so I downloaded it a couple days ago. Not really sure why anyone uses it. FB through a browser gives me the same experience as a PC and I know where everything is and works just fine. I disabled a page on my PC so I don't see it's posts, but they still show up on the FB app. I see no other problems with the app other than taking up memory and probably draining my battery faster.

I tried it again (after not using it for a loooooong lot of years, ok, maybe 1) and it is better than it was but still not worth using imo.

I set it to show 'most recent' in my feed. Recent is not random stuff I posted last month, followed by an hour old post followed by a day old post followed by a 15 minute old post. Setting it to 'top stories' made no difference...and no, what it was showing was not really 'top stories', just muddled crap.

If I hide a story then I don't want to see it, so don't put it on the app. Doesn't show on mobile.

It really isn't any faster than the mobile site on Chrome, except maybe loading photos.

I had no alerts/notifications set. Refresh rate set to never. HUGE amounts of RAM used when I wasn't using FB. Why? It's not set to do anything!

Unistalled. Again. For good.

I'm really indifferent about it. I already had notifications working because of a work around, so I don't even know if that is fixed or not now. It is fast and smoother, but there are still big problems.

-Can't edit or delete posts
-Can't download a picture from the wall (works on iOS)
-SPAM, Facebook calls it sponsored links (present in browser also). No way to hide it so it doesn't appear again like you can on the browser.

Okay... Here goes a few tips:

(Q) How to delete your status? (A) On the right hand side of each status -- you should see three small dots. Tap on it.

(Q) How to download pics? (A) Tap on pic and press menu on device. Since you might not be able to download the pic directly, you can get the pic by sharing it to whichever application on your device ( this way you can download it to your device.) It could be an app, email, messaging...whichever works best for you.

(Q) How do I delete a friend's comment on my thread? (A) Unfortunately, this option isn't available anymore - you usually could swipe your finger from right to left directly over the comment to delete/remove it. However, this can still be done using the m.facebook.com or any other facebook app that supports this feature.

Edit: [ really hope they implement a way of deleting comment(s). Some comments I just don't approve of - and would be better not viewing by me or any of my FB friends.

I really don't have much problem with this app since the recent update. Could it be better? Yes, a lot better. Can I live with it the way it is now? Sure. But hopefully they get it together.

*Note*

If you want to delete comment off your status, and aren't able to do so with the most recent FB for Android application - just uninstall the update. I did. :)

Remember, to delete a friend's comment...swipe from right to left over the comment or directly across from the post.

Don't you wish the Developer would just get it right, for once. And yes, I can live with this app, but I love the option to delete inappropriate comment(s).

I don't really see much of a difference between the new app and the old one tbh, I hadn't even noticed it had updated .
I guess you haven't been using this app a year ago...in fact, I should have said, a month ago.

I'm sure no matter what the developer(s) do to make this app somewhat useful, there will always be someone who think its a piece of crap.

-Can't edit or delete posts

Before I post a general reply, I'll deal with this point first. To delete a post you've made:

1. Go to your own wall.
2. Go to the message you want to delete.
3. At the top right hand corner of the message, there is a little Android menu icon (the three dots).
4. Click this and then select the delete option.

There is no option to edit posts.

Now for my general reply. Facebook has finally gone native (instead of the old HTML5 hybrid) and it's great:

- It's faster than before
- It's far more data efficient (Facebook is no longer the biggest data guzzler on my S3).

The increased data efficiency is great for me. I have a limited (250MB) plan and have no problems keeping within that (and that's while using the phone constantly on my commute) but I also roam a lot, where every megabyte counts. On a recent trip to Africa, I was paying

I actually really like the Fb update. The app is fast...luv the new way it brings up an entirely separate window when I do a comment, so I never lose my spot in the newsfeed. Sharing is super easy to several other apps as well as to my wall.
I'm pleased with the app, and I think they finally got a lot right.

I'm enjoying the new update, and since the app was practically rewritten (they got rid of HTML5) it's now a lot faster (no more lag!). Really it feels and looks like a totally different app.

The one thing they left out was the ability to leave your location in your posts. Not sure why that was overlooked.

The ads in the app are annoying. On my PC I have the MVPS host file which blocks every one of the ads, and the AdAway app uses that exact same host file, so not sure why I see ads in the FB app.

The last update is really p***ing me off. Every time I open the app now there is a pop up that wants access my contact list so I can find more friends. Every time I select "not now" and then every time I open the app again it pops up again

I'm with you! This is completely annoying. I am not a hyper facebooker, but this will slowly cause me to only check on the desktop.

Interesting how this happens and the only options are "not now" and to "find friends". Facebooks probable strategy: exhaust the user into doing "find friends" to stop this annoyance. (I checked settings and there is no setting that could get rid of this that I see)

I checked the settings also. Facebook just keeps pushing me closer and closer to saying "forget everyone that won't upgrade" and just using Google+ exclusively. I rarely ever use a PC, and I definitely don't care enough about Facebook to use one just for that.
