"5 layouts for multitasking"?
What does this mean? I have had JB on my N8000 for some weeks - flashed from first release. I now have around 30 different apps on my Multitaking Bar, having modified many of my favorites for multitasking. I would LOVE to store and recall different layouts. This is the first time I see some mention of layouts, other than the two old options of Dual View and Cascade View - which still show on my JB Bar.
Am I missing something? I really hope so!

Anyone have a wifi only version model number GT-N8013? That is what I have and I tried to update and got an error after all the checks unzipping a file.

I did it just fine and I have the N8013. I did it in three steps. I flashed the German ICS first using Odin (no root required). Then I used a CSC changer to change CSC. Germany is DBT. After it rebooted, it started OTA update right away.

I don't know how many 8013 users have done it, but after it updates to JB, Samsung software update tool gives me a message that my "device has been modified", and that I can not receive further updates (via software update). I don't have a yellow triangle or anything but download mode does show that I am running a custom ROM and binary counter is increased although my device isn't technically rooted and I am running a stock firmware. I take it to mean I will have to manually get any updates versus OTA, which is fine with me. I will probably flash back to my model stock firmware once JB is available here anyway. Additionally some model specific options are gone....but it mostly affects the preinstalled Samsung apps. Video Hub doesnt work, Nook app no longer preinstalled (and if you want it you may have to get it via Samsung Apps versus Play store...I got a country unavailability error in Play store but got it from Samsung Apps...weird). Media Hub (which I think is the US version of Video Hub) doesn't work. The preinstalled S note samples (article, diary etc) are all in German...and only those, everything else is in English. Otherwise everything looks and works great.

*Edited to add....I thought the process went fairly well considering I am a noob at this. I did discover that my binary counter appears to be set at 2...although I only flashed it once...the OTA update must have been the other increase. So evidently running the 8010 firmware although it is stock Samsung increases counter. That might be common knowledge for some but it was news to me lol. I am hoping that once I flash back to 8013 stock when jelly bean is released for it, it will remove modified status and hopefully reset counter, if not there's an app for it I'm sure.

OK - so I'm dumb - what is the "MT Icon"? I get to the Multi-Window bar by pressing the "up arrow" on the bottom toolbar. Nothing different happens if I "press and hold" this. I assume the "MT Icon" is something else?

I have now updated further to 4.1.2 (new German version released two days ago). There is extra capability in multi windowing and it fortunately keeps my additional modified apps with multi-window capability. But I still haven't found anyway to access "5 multiwindow layouts".

Help would be much appreciated!

That makes two of us because I couldn't find it either. I also tried holding the arrow and after nothing at all happening I felt kind of silly. A Google search didn't turn up anything either.

Manually flashed as I have done for all official updates. Simple and 100 percent reliable using Odin.

I am very tempted to do this as i am getting really bored waiting for samsung to release this via kies now

one question though, do you lose everything when you do it, or like an update via kies does it keep or your apps / settings?

I am still currently downloading the rom, i just want to know one thing though before i try and update via odin, the title of the file i am getting is the N8000XXCLL3_N8000OXACLL3_DBT.zip 1108.5mb, will that be fine to put on my N8010 WIFI only model?

I am assuming the one i am getting being N8000 is the 3g version, or does it contain all files for both models? i just don't wa nt to install a version that will make my tablet think its the 3g version and install stuff thats not needed.

It mightvwork with some tweaking; root required, but it is dedicated for the N8000 3G verios, just as the name of the file indicates. Head over to xda and download obe that is for 8010 and not 8000.

how about these guys - they have posted a official version of the 4.1.1 file. So if i upgrade using this firmware will i have english language or will i have the dreaded german language?

I think if you flashed to the german rom you shoul dbe able to change to english. Can you change to german on your pad now? see what happens

Appologies for the broken links earlier. Must always remember not to paste shortened links including ....... They will work native but not when copied - I have made the same mistake often, but still do it!!

As all of you have found there are different versions for N8000 (4.1.1 & 4.1.2) and N8010/8013 (4.1.1 only so far).

All SGN10.1 versions of 4.1 jellybean include the full premium suite as well as "Project butter" which makes everything smoother and faster.

Those of you who have succeded with the upgrade, congratulations. The best tablet, by-far, is now even better!

For those who are still working on it. Xda-developers SGN10.1 Forum is a much better help source than this forum - good for general chit-chat.

Hope they release JB officially soon. When i was researching the Note before i bought one many of the reviews mentioned it being able to do things that, actually, it cant do until JB is released.
