Monday I updated to R7 from stock, and I have a drastic change in my battery life. with stock I was able to go 2-3 days between charges. now since I went to R7 I can't go one day even if I don't use it, without the phone dieing. yesterday I unplugged the phone @7am rebooted it, throughout the day I checked my e-mail twice 2-3 min each time, made 5 calls no more then 3min each and checked traffic twice 1min each phone was dead @ 11pm. with the stock I would get the same use per day and it would last me 3 days keeping the phone on at night. I have all my wireless connections turned off my location is using wireless networks, background data is off, screen is set to about 10%. is everybody experiencing the same battery life?? and if not what are you doing different.

This has been talked about many times in the R7 thread.

Have you:

Installed Autokiller from the market?
Gone into the Battery Left app and calibrated?
Charged your phone to full and let it die?
Charged your phone from dead to full with the phone off?

You won't get the 2-3 days you were getting with stock but you can greatly improve battery life by following those steps.

I keep my settings similar to yours except I use the auto-brightness for the screen.
I also use the autokiller in Advanced Task Manager.

I can get about a full day with moderate use. It's definitely not as good as I was getting with my G1.

It was way worse without the autokiller.

I also haven't flashed the new kernel which I've read greatly improves battery life.

EDIT: I just flashed the kernel and recovery so we'll see if it offers any improvements.

Either way, I'm just saying, using an autokiller is going to give you the most noticable difference so definitely take that step.

Yesterday I installed Autokiller from the market and I flashed with the new kernel.
So far I noticed a tremendous improvement.
at the time I flashed (about 10am) my Batt was @ 70% it is now 8:30 of the next day and my batt is @ 44%. phone was on all night and I did some web browsing and a few phone calls yesterday.
Thanks skri11a for the help...
BH_man thanks for the work you put into this. 1.6 is so much better, and with these tips and tricks it works very well.
