New Year

I'll likely be home for New Years Eve. Did my fair share of New Years blow out parties when I was younger and I'm pretty much over it.

As for hopes for 2013? I hope to get a decent raise at work when my 2 years comes up and wish the best for my family and friends :) .

**EDIT**
I also hope to see something smart-phone wise that blows me away more than the Galaxy Tab 2 so I can get a new phone (still love my GNEX though!)

I will be staying home.

Too many amateur drunks on the road.

My hope for the new year is that I make even more money and hopefully find myself in a higher income tax bracket. Even though we will ALL be in a higher tax bracket, sadly.

I plan to buy a new bike, another suit and new digs.

Perhaps meet a better class of woman and hopefully stay alive long enough to answer this same question next year.

Like others I've had enough New Year's Eve escapades to satisfy my thirst for adventure til my days are done. I'll be at home and sober, and will not venture out unless I get a call for assistance, which is not likely.

I've had drunken bashes, most memorable is one where I played DJ for a group of friends who partied late into the night, fueled by good food, alcohol and a careful selection of tunes that climaxed with a furious fire-building. Memories of faces lit only by the flickering fireplace and "Easy Money" thundering forth from my most powerful loudspeakers. Those who lasted to daybreak were served a hearty breakfast before going off to join the rest in slumber.

I've had more peaceful celebrations far from home, like a quiet evening at the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem, sipping whiskey and swapping stories with fellow ex-pats. Lots of top secret tales that night!

I've been on the job through the midnight hour many times, not even taking notice of the time. But one time, on December 31, 1999 I took special note as the clock ticked down, waiting to see if anything went wrong to the computers when the calendar rolled over to year 2000. Nothing notable happened, so I went home, slightly disappointed and greatly relieved.

Now it's just one more "dodge the drunks" night on my calendar. :)

I have young kids, so we're staying home once again. A bag of chips, some champagne and sparking apple juice for the kids. Not complaining mind you, I'm kind of glad to have the pressure of having the perfect NYE experience behind me. My wife still wants to go to Times Square. I still say when I'm dead. Still, I like to live vicariously through others...What are you doing to ring in 2013?

Working grave yard shift... again.

Doesn't really bother me though as my wife and daughter will both be in LA

I’m gonna go to the local casino, lose again for the umpteenth time, then ban myself for six months... just like I did last year.

But this time I’m gonna choose a statewide ban instead of the local-only. Then I’ll drive to neighboring Nevada ten times and lose there, just like last year.
