hey i finally found a way to access ntfs hard disks/ pen drives on the sgs3(It Requires Root). There is a software which lets u mount the drive and u can access the same via file manager. A quote from the app description. I tried it on my sgs3 and it works great. Just thought i would share it with everyone.

"Forget about incompatibility issues! Get unlimited access to the most widespread file systems in the world on your smartphone by mounting USB sticks or SD cards formatted to Windows NTFS or Mac OS X HFS+. Now you can easily copy, transfer and modify data previously unsupported by Android volumes."

thanks for moving it sorry for posting in the wrong section :(

No worries...not a problem or an issue :).

Although it begs the question, how do people with other devices see this info?

Well, I'm guessing various searches...I know I had to do a bit of digging to find-out how to do this for my Xoom and then my GNex...

That's not to say we couldn't put a link to here in the main SGS3 forum's stickies (not sure which one, but if you think that would help, let me know).

yup its a general android related issue not specific to the s3.

Yeah, this sounds a lot like the Stickmount that I've used before.

It's a judgement decision on where tho put threads like this. Usually though, if it requires root or is fairly complicated (beyond what the normal member would use or attempt), we'll organize it in the root area.

:)
