what is your tool of measurement? usage or what

Just seat of the pants "feel." There's been some discussion whether there is a "placebo effect" caused by simply decreasing animation transitions but I think Chrome is definitely faster. Google Maps on the way home today felt faster with new map tiles, screen updates, etc. Google Now launches faster too.

Okay, just got done reading (or scanning / skimming) all 82 pages of that thread on XDA .

Yeah, don't bother...there's only about 100 useful posts in there...although there are some very savvy folks in there trying to dissect if this is real or placebo.

Of note: OP hasn't posted since 11/21 ??? (very curious).

Here's a few posts that I also found noteworthy:

Best post of all :)p):

So, I'm guessing it does have some effect / impact on some people's devices--just not everyone's. There probably is a cost (battery) but no one has adequately measured it yet.

No one has reported any "bad" things happening as a result of using this (or other similar methods described).

Anyway, thanks again for bringing this to our attention. I learned a lot of other interesting things tonight in that thread.

Cheers!

Can we keep it in the Gnex general forum? People are reporting different effects on different devices. This could be a discussion of the effect specifically on the Galaxy Nexus.

Well, I think that since it involves root it wouldn't be appropriate to place in the main GNex area.

You could update the OP to say this is a discussion about how this would work specifically for the VZW GNex and it would be okay to move it back to the VZW GNex ATR area...unfortunately, there's no common ATR area for things like this.

Let me know what you think :).
