MAKE AN INTERNAL & EXTERNAL SD CARD BACKUP FIRST IT MAY ERASE THEM BOTH
ALSO DO BOTH THE WIPES IN MOBILE ODIN WHEN FLASHING THE AGAT'S RECOVERY
IF YOU DON'T IT'S GONNA BOOTLOOP.

You will need to download and install the samsung drivers. Let them finish installing, reboot your PC. Once its back up, connect your phone to your PC and let the software install from your phone.

2. Next you will need the download an Odin tar file. I used the K23 from garwynn from sxtp devs...When its done you will need to extract the files. You can use 7-Zip, WinRar, or anyone you want. There are several chooses, I used the Rooted-Restore.exe file. Open the Tar file and extract it to somewhere you can find it. I use my desktop to can it easy. You should see a new file called Odin-OC.

3. Now that you have that, unplug your phone from your PC and turn it off.... Pull the battery to make sure it off. Put your phone into Odin/download mode. To do that press and hold volume down and power at the same time.

4. Open the Odin-OC file on your PC and open the .exe file in it. Connect your phone to your PC. Once it connects, you should see a green box on Odin that say ROM and then a number. The number doesn't matter.

5. Click Start

6. Your phone will reboot when it is done. You will see a Sprint 4G boot animation

7. Next you will need to put a custom recovery on your phone. To do that, you have to opinions. You can buy Mobile Odin off google play which will support the developer, or you can download the lite version here.

8. Once you have Mobile Odin, you will need to download a custom recovery, CM 10, and GAPPS. I used AGAT v.6.8. as my recovery. If you use a different one, make sure it is a .tar file. You can put them on your internal or external storage on your phone, doesn't matter.

CyanogenMod 10 Beta 2: Android 4.1.2 for the Epic 4G Touch - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

Dev-Host - AGAT_v0.6.8.tar - The Ultimate Free File Hosting / File Sharing Service

9. Open Mobile Odin on your phone, scroll down to open files, navigate to your .tar recovery file and open it. It should have the file listed under Kernal. I suggest having the Inject SuperUser and Mobile Odin boxes checked. It will make it easier to revert back to stock. Click Flash Firmware.

10. Your phone will boot into recovery mode when done.

11. From recovery select apply update. Navigate to your CM10 files and flash. once its done, flash your GAPPS.

Congrats You are now running CyanogenMod 10 Android 4.1.2 for the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch

12. To revert back to stock simply download the .tar file on your phone, open Mobile Odin, select the file and flash firmware....Just a side note, doing so will reset your custom recovery back to stock as well and you will have to go through the process all over again......

This is not my work just passing it along

Thanks JaayDog for breathing new life into this forum just as it was dying. Going to be trying this soon. Is there no way though that we can flash paranoid android instead of cm10?

Just flash the epic 4g touch paranoid ROM instead of cm10. They are both sprint ROMs and based of the same cm10 work done by epicCM team.

Doesn't seem like MMS works and I don't think 3G works either? Also, question..after the phone reboots into a sprint animation, what is that system/ROM it's on? It said 4.1.2 before I flashed CM10...just wondering if we could just keep that or if it's just needed to go forward with CM10? This process is much more confusing than the Triumph/EVO V lol.

I fixed 3G on Paranoid Android. The FK23 modem that I was on only works with touchwiz roms apparently so I flashed the EG30 modem and 3G seems to be working fine. I am now at home so I can't check to see if 4G is working anymore but 3G definitely is. Follow the instructions in the YouTube video for "How to flash EG30 modem" in this post on XDA! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1352310 Good luck.

Well mms just doesn't seem to be working no matter what I try. Tried changing apn settings and manually I putting the settings in go sms also but none works. Here's hoping somebody else can figure it out.

I have not flashed anything yet until this mms is solved. I know when my LG Marquee was not sending mms on TING I changed the url from sprint to a ting one. Soooo

Here is my GS2 info with a rooted stock rom check it against what is showing on your phone

Type in ##3282#
Select View
Select Others
Select MMSC URL

mmsc = http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8008/mms?
Proxy = 205.239.233.136
Port = 81

to edit you will need MSL #. There are ways to find your MSL # on internet which I have not tried. I did try to use the APPs in Google Play but they do not work.

Good luck and report back
