Help Help!! Brand new phone is dead

So I got this phone yesterday afternoon. Took it down to the store and got it activated, loaded all of my apps on it and then didn't have time to mess w/it so I went to bed. Phone was at like 20% battery anyway. I plugged it in, saw the nice little light change color to indicate it was charging and passed out.

I woke up this morning planning on working on rooting it today and getting it set up the way I like it. I found the green light in the corner is on like I would expect, but the phone is otherwise unresponsive. Power button on the upper right does nothing. Neither does the volume or swiping on the screen. Nothing. I plugged it into my computer and the computer recognized that it was there and made the nice noise it makes when a new device is plugged in. Still nothing on the screen.

Did the trick where you hold down the power button and the volume key. Phone appeared to reboot. It disconnected from my computer, then re-connected, but still nothing on the screen and the green light in the upper left is on. What can I try next? Is this phone doa?

It is recommended that you use the original wall charger and cable that came with your Razr M and charge it to 100%. If you want to use other chargers and/or cables do so but keep the originals around as a guaranteed backup.

I don't have that. I got a good deal on the phone since it didn't come w/a box or cables.

Easily rectified as pointed out.

The reason it is important ... the Motorola charger and cables went through stringent quality control before they were offered for sale. It is important to be able to know that the charger and cable you are using are not causing problems.

It should also be noted that charging from a USB port on a computer (even with the OEM cable) will take about five times longer than using the OEM wall charger.
