Root [GUIDE] Unbrick OR Unroot LG Motion 4G [KDZ]

yes i just waited a min now do you know why it says security error morning call cannot be verified? or can you send me a different like too the downloads?

In the firmware thread there is the 10c version you can download from mediafire, try that.
Morning call error usually means you did something (deleted an app, tried replacing kernel, etc.) and the bootloader is locked on the Motion, so it bricks itself.

3. after this unroot procedure or "factory reset" (if it isn't the same) will require me to call Metro or go to them in order to get the phone working/"primed" or whatever it is called that these people do at the store?

3) your phone will work like always after the procedure. No reprogramming, no flashing PRLs. Just wait for it to boot and you have an unrooted phone. Any root apps you installed after rooting will still be there except superSU.

Is it the same thing if I do a "factory reset"?

I want to change my email address, not add one more to it, and I was told I need to do a factory reset, but I don;t want to be calling Metro or going to the store, they are pricks.

Also, how do I know at what speed is the phone working at?

TIA

1. Factory reset is not the same as Unrooting.
Factory reset- Only erases all user data
Unrooting- Overwrites the /system and does not touch user data

2. To change your email address doesn't require either of those. To add/remove emails just go to System Settings > Accounts & sync > Tap on the account > Press Menu button > Remove account

3. It depends on what you mean by "speed". If you want to know your max CPU frequency, download cpuspy from the play store.

I thought you have to factory reset the phone to remove the first gmail account linked with phone.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe factory reset is required. It might be new in Android 4.0+. I have 2 gmails on my phone, and it gives me the option to remove either of them (first and second). I'm not going to test it though because it will delete all associated data, so I'll leave that test to someone else :D

Right. I was told by LG to do this.

Most likely so on your phone(s), I got an LG motion and the only option it gives me is to add an email.

Come to think of it, maybe I will add one, and see if that gives me the option to delete either one. :)

Thanks guys.

EDIT 1-8-13:

No option to delete after adding an email. So I did the factory reset. One thing though and I am not sure why is this....

on the top row of the display (notification area I suppose) it also displays the battery charge, it used to display the drawing of the battery with the visual amount of charge and it also displayed a percentage number of what charge was available. Now the percentage figure is gone... (

Can I get it back?

How can I take a picture of my home screen?

Thank again.

My friend, you made a mistake factory resetting your phone. I just did an nand backup of my phone, so I could test it for myself. I was able to delete Every email account on my phone. Not just one or the other. You have to go to
System Settings > Accounts & sync > Click on the Account > Press menu > Remove account

> Now the [battery] percentage figure is gone... Can I get it back?
That is a setting you must choose- System Settings > Power saver > Battery percentage

> How can I take a picture of my home screen?

You are right. I got the LG email telling me that it couldn't be done... only do a Factory reset.

Blam blam blam! Knock-out

Thank you again.

Now I am having problems with my phone. Sense digital clock widget stopped working and the phone is not connecting to the internet...

EDIT: I just took the phone and I turned it of. On starting again, it began to function normally and i have the connection back. :)
