Help Auto Brightness problem

I notice that when my Nexus 10 is on auto bright the brightness dims and brightens at times for no apparent reason. I have heard mention that there is an issue with auto brightness but nobody ever says exactly what is is. Is this the issue they talk about?

Many of the "Tips & Tricks for the Nexus 10" I've read have all said don't use auto-brightness until they fix whatever issues they're having with it.

Thanks

That's what I read as well, but they don't discuss what exactly the issues are. I just want to be sure that there is not an issue with mine and that is the issue they are talking about.

i have absolutely no control of my brightness, stuck on the brightest setting. setting it to auto does nothing, moving the slider does nothing.

not too worried about it, except it bright in a dark room and suckin power.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS52aXRvLmx1eC5mcmVlIl0 hey guys try this app. I read an article but haven't tried it yet.

@drudog, are you serious? I would have done a factory reset or returned it by now. screen takes enough battery as it is, that's a deal breaker for me. Mines on 0% right now. You don't need any brightness in a dark room!

My 2c.

Hope that app works for you guys

I just got mine a few days ago and while sitting on the coach the other night it started to dim, get bright, dim. After a short time I realized what was going on, the lamp that was on next to the couch has a short in it and the light bulb tends to go a little bright then a little dim, very unnoticeable but the Nexus 10 was picking up on this change. It does not do this in any other room or in the day light so the Nexus 10 is very sensitive to external light changes.

Just got my N10 last week as a gist to replace my Acer A500 tablet. Not sure if it's a brightness setting anywhere but I noticed the N10 highest brightness setting is not as bright as the A500 highest brightness, like the N10 is always "darker" when comparing side-by-side.

Anyways, the first thing I noticed on the N10 was the wonky auto brightness fluctuations as posted in this thread. I also have a Galaxy Nexus phone and it does not fluctuate anything like the N10. I noticed it does on the desktop as well as some games/apps especially in portrait mode.

Will try the Lux Lite app as suggested or just leave at a certain setting until Google can fix the issue.
