Help o2 downgrade?

Basically, I updated to 4.0.3 a couple of months ago (having had it a year and not updated it I was feeling a little guilty) and essentially I hate it. I'm experiencing many problems associated with the update when the phone was a real trooper before. It's really starting to wind me up and I really want to return to my original software; I've looked around but the guides all seem to be for different models and I'm getting more than a little bit confused, I'm pretty savvy when it comes to these things but I'm just not getting this!
Can anybody give me a step by step guide, in 'laymans' terms to downgrade again? I want my nice phone back!
Thank you!
Sophy.

You would need to root and flash the Ginger Bread firmware. Although not hard to do, it does carry risks and invalidates your warranty.

What problems and issues are you having? It might well be they are resolvable. If you do want to go back to GB we can help too.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums Sophyla! :)

There are a number of reasons that your update is not behaving for you and nothing to do with the new firmware.

Have a read through post #1 of...

Firmware update problems... what you can do!

to see what you can do about sorting them out.

If you do wish to go back to Gingerbread, then all you have to do is to download the firmware for your CSC code and flash it with Odin. How to do this is in post #1, here, under the heading, "My firmware is not eligible for ICS yet but I want it now!". Ignore the ICS, Andriod 4.0.x, bit and just use it to determine which firmware you require and where to download it and how to flash it manually to your phone. There is also a video and step-by-step instructions to show you what to do and expect.

If you get stuck, then there are quite a few knowledgable and helpful members around to help you.
