I am still looking for a case for my lovely DNA - started with the Verizon silicon to protect the phone out of the store but that put marks on the back. Currently using a Diztronic which I actually really like - it keeps the form factor of the phone feeling great in the hand. But I really want a case that has hole in the back so I can see the notification light on the posterior side of the unit...while keeping the slim profile......any ideas ?? Love this phone :)

I too was using the silicon case from vzw and noticed the marks it left on the back, not to mention the fact that it buried the power button. Currently I'm using the shell/ holster combo from vzw, you get better access to the power button, but because of the length of the phone it's aggravating using the holster. Still looking for that perfect case myself.

Take a small drill to the back of the case?

I'm on the fence on whether I want to bust out the Dremel or not, I can't say I use the rear notification light much at all, but I'm anal like that.. :p

I had the Ditztronic case and I found that pushing the power button was a real chore. And it added too much buk to the phone. So I went back to Vz and got their TPU case which is very, very sleek, adds nothing to the size or form factor of the phone and is transparent (even though it's nominally smoked gray) so you can see the rear notification light quite clearly. Best of all, there's a cutout for the power button and I'm finding it very easy to turn the phone on and off as the cutout guides you right to the button. On the side it has a rased portion over the volume rocker which seems to work very easily as well and makes turning volume up and down quite easy. And there's a little lip that makes putting the phone down on its screen side drama-free.

For me, this is the perfect case. If you're looking for something that will provide major protection from 6 foot drops onto concrete this is probably not the right case for you. Otherwise I don't see how you can go wrong.

An earlier posts few weeks ago commented on drilling the back of the cover - even though the case was just $12.00, well, I don't want to drill a home and ruin the smooth form factor of the case ....... maybe someone will come out with a new case soon !!

Planning on getting the other box commuter when I get mine next week. Adds a little bulk but feels very secure. A friend of mine used a dremel on his and sanded the edges a little bit to get a back notification light hole. Looks great.

as i did with the Incredible and my Rezound, i had the VZW TPU case on the DNA and then would slide it into the holster from the VZW holster/kickstand case and they were always very secure. but with the DNA being larger, i finally decided to just rock the Otterbox Commuter and it's been fine. and it still works great with both my Nokia DT 900 wireless charging plate and also the stand up DT 910.

loving this device....

Did you get a front screen cover with your Commuter case? I have three and no front covers.....

interesting you would ask, Bearcats.....

the guy at the mall kiosk that i got the Commuter from installed my DNA into the case and handed it back to me. i was going thru the box and paperwork last night and noticed it said that it is supposed to include a screen protector/sqeegee, etc., but i didnt have one in the box and i never saw the salesman install one. it never dawned on me since ive had one on since i got the phone two weeks ago.

so either they don't ship with the screen protector or the kiosk guy kept it on his counter.

im going to go back and ask them if they have any more Commuters and ask to see whats in the box.

I just got my HTC Droid DNA Flexible TPU S-Line Wave Case off of ebay for $2.99 including shipping from China. Late last month someone posted that he had bought this case and liked it. The case is great slim and good looking. I got the black case, but they have a smoke one that will show the notification light on the back. Here is a link for the case, they raised the price to $3.99.

Let me know what you find out. I am going through Corporate Otterbox and all three have been shipped without a front cover and they swear there should be one in there. Thought about selling the other covers so I can buy a screen protector...LOL! Reason I want it from otterbox is the one on my Dinc lasted two years.

Do any of these cases provide much shock protection? I got an inexpensive hard shell case from Ebay that fits fine, but I don't think it provides any shock absorption. I'd like to find a hard shell with a rubberized exterior. It's hard to tell looking at pictures of the Otterbox cases what's on the surface. Some reviewers have also said they don't fit the DNA well. TIA

Looks good, fits good and has "lay on the table" protection for screen. I got the white and gray case hoping the white gloss finish will not show scratches. Ports are very accessible and wireless charging works. Fit and finish of case is very nice.

Just got my black one today as well, instantly placed an order for the white/grey.

Great case, I especially like how the edges of the screen are more open than say the Diztronic. The beveled edges also seem to help. I don't think I'm bumped the case while scrolling or typing once yet. Makes the phone just very slightly wider in the hand, but overall feel is great.

As for the scratches, I had a pair of Incipio cases for an older phone and it looks like their still using the exact same plastic. The black will show scratches, but white hides them nicely.

With the covered buttons, it is a touch more effort to push, but feels like it should break in nicely after a couple weeks. I use sweep to wake personally, so I rarely touch the buttons, if at all, but for others shouldn't be an issue.

Oh and comes with a screen protector and cleaning cloth like all Incipio cases. Don't know about the fit of the screen protector, so can't comment on that.
