Running - cycling training apps?

Any other weekend athletes out there that train for triathlons and are using android apps?

Please share.

I'm new to the app world but am very interested in knowing if there are any running, cycling programs available to track routes, times and with the GPS even speed...

Thanks in advance.

I am also using Cardio Trainer, but have seen some strange things with it. My wife and I jog together and go the same distance and we end up with different mileage, but the same time. All of our setups are the same because I put them in that way. Not sure why that is.

Also, I have yet to be able to figure out the pedometer on it for any accuracy indoors when it is raining on the treadmill. I went on a quick jog of 2 miles on the treadmill Monday night and it showed 0.33 miles.. Not real close. ;)

But I do like it for the mapping with the GPS. Just not the difference in distance it is giving us. We don't know which one to think is right when we both went together and stopped at the same place..

are you talking miles apart or just a few feet? give me some perspective of the change you are seeing please.

Well from memory, I believe Tuesday mine was showing 3.13 miles and my wife had hers showing 3.29 miles... Sort of like that, but not always in that order. Sometimes mine will show more and sometimes hers will.. I can live with that if anyone has an idea how to get the pedometer setting right for indoors on the treadmill. I had set it for 24 inches the time it showed .33 miles and I went over 2 miles that day.Might have been closer to 2.5 miles actually. I do not take very long strides, so I took 10 steps and divided the inches by 12 to get a guess.. not sure how right that would be.

Pedometers aren't exact, and even though it should track closely internally, I think it is a mistake that it displays to 100th of a mile.

A difference of 5% could easily be step occasionally not being recorded, or differences in stride length. You could probably run the same course at different speeds and get different distances.

Of course, I haven't checked this software yet, so I don't know if the pedometer is augmented by GPS to determine mileage. That should minimize or eliminate issues.

If it is GPS augmented, it may also account for a difference on the treadmill. If it is showing very low on a treadmill versus on the road, then perhaps the sensitivity needs to be adjusted so that it records each step.

I'm using one called endemondo. Tracks distance, speed, elevation, average mile times etc. Shows route via Google maps, even let's people track you online as your running and send you voice messages to encourage you. Think it has a training section too,but I've not used it. Seems pretty accurate although I have not really checked it against anything else. But hey its free.

What about the new iMapMyRun+ app? I have it on my phone, but just got my arm band today. I also have have sportstracker, but have not tried it either. I like both for the fsct they r free, and show current data like current speed, average speed, pace, etc. Although imapmyrun wins out so far as it will let me post to Facebook and Twitter if I want to. Also they have a sweet web site. Sportstracker wants me to by pro for an outrageous $10 to post to fb and Twitter.

Anyone used these? Others that may compare?

Thanks!

BTW, I have a Droid incredible.
