ZTE Grand S

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but could this possibly be the other/2nd leaked ZTE phone. Late last year there were 2 leaked ZTE phones coming to Metro PCS; The first was the ZTE Avid 4G and the second was the ZTE Grand X Pro.

Have not found the "Grand X Pro" but did find this. Its called the Grand S and it's rocking a quad-core S4 Pro processor @ 1.7GHz with 2GB of ram and a 1920x1080 pixels 5" display. Oh and did I mention it will have a 13 mega pixel camera?! LOL

They may not look exactly alike, but are still very similar.

If this has been brought up before and I am wrong feel free to delete/move this thread mods. Thank you.

Hey I am no expert here by any means but I think ZTE has a hard row to hoe.

They are going to have to come out with something pretty stellar I think for them to even think about gaining any foothold and something a heck of a lot more stellar for the money than the Avid.

They are trying to pawn the Avid off now for the same price as the OLD Motion price when in BOTH benchmark tests side by side the Avid gets outclassed by the Motion and that's BEFORE any potential build quality or durability issues with the Avid are taken into account.

IMO, there ARE people that got hosed Worse than someone who bought a Motion two weeks ago at the old price and that's those who bought an Avid for that same price in light of a <$100 Motion now.

And, all that is without even taking ZTE's questionable business practices and allegiance to it's communist government into account. Add that and IMO they're about as attractive as a West Memphis hooker. :D (No offense meant to any West Memphis hookers we may have with us here.)

I don't think it's some much hate or dislike as that they just haven't proven themselves yet to be worth of any accolades or personal recommendations.

Their past history with phones has not been awe inspiring.

Nor are their latest forages with the Avid. It's nothing impressive even for $149 to someone who researches how it performs against other similar phones. It's most attractive to those that go on specs only without doing any further digging into how the phone actually performs.

I DO THINK there are some geo-political and bidness ethics albatrossi around ZTE's neck but I think that's only a slightly deeper hole for them to crawl out of than the other more reputable newer phone companies no one knows that much about.

That's how I sees it anyway.

i would highly advise against it. even if they do work, its zte so update support is dead in the water. they use a mediatek quad core, which is about a qualcomm dual core, as in they are as fast as the sgs3 but 300 bucks. when you can get a moto x for 300, or a nexus 5 which both will have more support and specs and are 300/350 respectively.
