Still hunting for an m4p player for my Galaxy S2. Or any android player, etc.

(not mp4)

At the very least, a good program to convert them to mp3's or something.

These are music files bought from iTunes several years ago before I knew how to buy without the security.

Any suggestions are appreciated........

I think mikedt is right on this, as I did a search for m4p on Google Play and it came up empty of any players for that file format

Yup. :) M4P is DRM'd (Digital Restrictions Management) AAC music files. The only things that will play them are Apple iTunes, Apple iPods and Apple iOS devices. iTunes Store purchased music has been DRM free since 2010.

Ok, can someone explain how is it that I was able to drag and drop music from my wife's iTunes, using windows PC, to my android phone and can play them using PowerAmp Pro? I never changed the format, if it is indeed MP3 format.

Depends on what they are. If the songs were purchased sometime after 2009, then they'll be DRM free M4A.

I think Apple does or did have an option to un-DRM M4P songs by paying extra or something, as an alternative to burning audio CDs. Could be US only though at 25cents? a song. I remember reading about it. Also there's iTunes Match, where I think you pay one fee, $25, and they'll convert all your songs to DRM free, again this could be United States only though.
