That is old news as they have been building off that for more than 2 weeks, glad it was let out though.

He just stopped by and gave me my 2.1!!!! Only difference was it was a rainbow unicorn.

Well, I can personally tell you that I loaded this up and everything works perfectly. Sprint Navigation, Sprint Nascar, etc. Everything works perfect. Looks like the real deal is finally here!

Actually that date would be Dec. 21 2012. Not sure where you got the May 2012 idea from, but the Mayan calendar flips on Dec. 21 2012.

$10 says Sprint may not update any either of the Android phones.... might just sweep it under the rug and hope we all switch to the newer devices.

Cooden, did you go throught the following steps or just flash the ROM?

You will need to add busybox, patch sh and su, and make sure that you do another recovery image and such. I also recommend adding Superuser.apk and stuff. If you use the Desire build.prop, you can get most of the protected apps working.

Have you noticed any issues since you flashed?

Eh, now that doesn't seem like a very probable outcome, now does it? Like the previous poster said, the recent release worked perfectly, WITH all of the Sprint's own apps. This, to me, seems like a release is imminent. While I agree that constant speculation and false release dates get old, it's still exciting, and I'm still enjoying it.

No, the thing is so easy to do. I have never rooted or flashed before, I was always nervous that I would mess something up. You just download the program, connect the phone to the computer using your data cable, open the program, and click the buttons. It does everything itself. This is why I really believe that this is the version that Sprint will be lauching. I have not had any problems at all. Sprint Navigation, Sprint Nascar, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and everything else works great. I went right to Android Market and downloaded all my previous apps without a problem, and all my apps are working without a glitch.

It has all the update firmeware/profile/prl as the others. Firmware shows no update available and Profile updated just fine. PRL was 60660 with the ROM and updated just fine to the latest 60663.

That's all I can tell you...

I'm curious on this as well (even though I'm waiting for the official release).
