Inquiring about getting the RAZR Max hd

Hi. I'm thinking about getting the Razr Maxx HD. Although I would like to know from people how do they like the phone, especially those who performed the jelly bean upgrade, and factory reset the phone. I would like to know if there is any lag, any issues with call quality, an issue with performance day to day activities, battery life, etcetera. Please and thank you

Well of course battery life is the obvious thing due to it being the max. But how are things like texting, signal strange, reception, call quality?

Excellent, excellent, excellent, and excellent.

No issues here. The stock texting app is a little basic but its perfect for me. However, the other three are outstanding. Exactly what you'd expect from Motorola.

Same here - ICS to JB via OTA, I did the factory reset and now running Nova Prime, Hd Widgets, fully loaded up with apps and I have this phone dialed in and running awesome. I love this phone. No lag here, at least nothing I consider lag. Great battery life. Texting via the stock app although I do use a different keyboard called Kii that is awesome. No problems with signal and calls are clear. I have never dropped a call. 4g LTE is fast. I use Smart Actions and Tasker to program the phone to do what I want it to do automatically for day-to-day activities. Performance has been exceptional. I even think the camera is really good.

I had both the SG3 and the Razr Maxx HD, and ended up keeping the RMHD. I actually liked the SG3 better for a variety of reasons, but the RMHD just appealed to me. It's very solid, and I wanted to stick with the phone with the best radios and battery life. In the end, that seemed most important to me. The SG3 was smoother, and had a better camera.

I will definitely be looking at the SG4 when it comes out, and am currently considering the GNote 2, although I think it's too big.

Contemplating between the maxx hd and the DNA. I know that people on each forum will be subjective to the phone of their choice. I just want to know honest pros and cons from the people who actually own them

Moto has the best build quality and radios. I have tried other brands and Sammy has radio issues. I returned an Incredible for weak battery, screen and build, though that was two years ago. But everything is in the eye of the beholder. Go to the store and do a side-by-side comparison.

I love my RMHD.

How is it as a music player? Obviously has the battery life to stay in all day usage, but does anybody use their phone as also their mp3 player for working out or just any other kind of stuff?

I like the player. I'm no audiophile and use cheap wired buds, or Bluetooth for my helmet. The player has plenty of options. Effects Profiles: 3D Stereo, Home Theater, Live Stage, Custom. Surround can be set to Live, Wide, Ambient or Off. Equalizer has these options: Extreme Bass, Bass Punch, Balanced, Brilliant Treble, Vocalizer, Off.

I use it when outdoors or on flights as an MP3 player and it hardly dents the battery.

I have no complaints. Other people with specialized tastes will have other thoughts.

If you are planning on using your phone as your "iPod,: which is sounds like you are, then you have to consider the storage. I recently upgraded from the HTC Thunderbolt to the RMHD. I had originally planned on getting the DNA because I was used to HTC Sense, but I could not even fit all my music/videos then on my Thunderbolt on a DNA, much less download any new ones. A friend of mine likes his DNA but he carries a separate iPod.

On a separate note, the inability to remove the battery on the DNA worried me also because many HTC phones have battery issues. For my Thunderbolt, if I was going to be away from a charger for a full day, I would need to carry at least one extra battery with me (sometimes 2 depending on usage). While the RMHD also does not have a removable battery, it doesn't need one.

I own both. The DNA screen is awesome, camera is significantly better, and it may be the best reception phone Verizon has out right now. I struggle significantly with storage and battery to the point it cannot be a main phone.

Maxx HD is the most solid device on the market. It just seems to do everything well. Not anything great per se, but a trustworthy device if you get my point. Battery amazing, signal strength is solid, and I can do what I want with storage.

I don't think you can go wrong with either, but I would really consider how you use your phone when choosing between the two.

I don't trust Samsung radios. I'd prefer a DNA. THE RMHD has great radios, speaker volume, and battery life but is a little slow for a fast dual processor imo.
