Just an FYI if the "Run_ me_sh" file does not open on Linux Mint , you need to right click go to "properties" , check , to permission allow executing for as program. Then if you get permission denied when running the script , go into the "Stuff directory" , right click on "adb" and check, to permission allow executing for as program .

Hi guys im new here good to be here.But i think i have a quick fix for the bugs ive read about with this hydro root...i used v17 but i noticed that YES i have SuperSU and YES it rooted BUT,when i used an app that needed root access it would freeze up..and bug up and root apps wouldnt work..(Heres why)its a full root but you need to go into the app drawer and open supersu and then go to options and have it AUTOMATICALLY GRANT ROOT ACCESS,also turn off the ACCESS SPLASH SCREEN THAT IS SUPPOSED TO POP UP.i noticed thats why it glithed because the screen wouldnt pop up to let you choose grant access.After that it works great on my wifes hydro.

I also want to say hello and thank the devs here for teaching me alot...Ive successfully rooted 2 prevails and a hydro and installed kak,3gturbo,maxmultitaskingmod,and v6 supercharge.I learned alot in a short time and it all started with me reading this forums...Thanks again

Hi. Got this phone recently and love it, 90% of the stuff I do on this doesn't even involve calling lol. I been reading on the purpose of rooting and I'm still confused as to the purpose, performance? other than super access because you can...If I disable all the built in boost stuff like Mobiel ID, Voicemail, Vocemail message counter, as well as kyocera update tool, any noticeable improvement?

Also, this recovery everyone is talking about, is it a backup of current system state so that you don't have to resort to factory, or can you even go to factory settings anymore if you root?

Well one positive is that you can link2sd with gives more memory on the phone for app storage. Also changing system apps is very helpful, tweaking build. prop for better performance. Modifying anything within reason. And new recovery would be the way to have new roms and kernels (overclock kernels could boost performance). Basically your phone your way.

I got the links back up and running icluding the v2 that works the best. Sorry it took so long but was sick with the flu for 2 weeks and then working on another phone until Hydro gets some more love. I have also modified the phone with pimp my rom alpha to enable zram but thats risky. Any thing you do in that app is risky for the most part.

I have made a few boot images and done some customizing on cm7 fir my awesome little prevail. Let's figure out how to get cwm so we can get this phone rolling! I

Nice let us know how it goes and if the installation goes correctly. With any of the others others except v2 we had to manually install superuser and busy box and then allow all. Which is not good for the system safety. We really need to unlock the bootloader but it's going to be a fight, Kyocera isn't going to do it peaceful like.

Over on the rise forums, we aren't having much luck either. The Rise is also on Public Mobile, in addition to sprint and virgin mobile. It has a different product number, c5156 vs c5155, and it has fastboot enabled. Only problem is, the guy who was helping us bricked his phone. He was able to "flashboot boot" into CWM, just not actually install it. I've got an unopened Rise I'm going to flash the c5156 bootloader to, to see if it gives fastboot access or if it just bricks it.

Edit: It bricks it. Now I'm tearing it apart for the heck of it.

V2 is what I had to use also. We need to stir everyone up again! Cwm is a must in order to go any further on this phone. Db2 has an idea, and I believe it could be a big step! If our phone shows that it's running 4.0.3, it would try to update! Any input from you guys will help

I unfortunately don't have the knowledge to help to much. I compile info, beta test, and have been gaining knowledge of how things work.

I do know that getting our bootloader unlocked or getting around it. Is crucial to success

Yes, that's right. If we could force an app to partially work, maybe we could bug Kyocera for an update to allow the app to work properly. If we could get an os update, we could figure out how the bootloader reads signatures!
