hi

due to repeating battery issues (depletion now in 8 hours without actual using it) I will try a fact reset and start over :-( Battery Power Usage is still only showing:
- Android OS and
- Phone Idle

as major power consumers

Is there an easy way to save my app list?

i am hesitating using my MyBackUp backups due to the fact that this may also restore my problems ...

what proces would you advice?

regards
D.

What I would have liked ... yes would have :-(

As you said quite right: most apps are synced and reload themselves after the factory reset. Too bad all settings are lost :-(

I also used MyBackup Pro ... which also only works partially.

short summary:
contacts and calendars are restored
WiFi WEP keys are restored
email accounts are lost (settings lost, mails still availible due to IMAP)
sms are lost - restored via mybackup pro
whatsapp - fully restored!!!! Hurrah!!!!
most other apps are restored without settings

I have two questions:
1. is there a way to prevent all apps from restoring themselves? this would have been a good way to clean up
2. is there a way to save all settings in the cloud, so apps come back as they were before? I am seriously disappointed in MyBackUp Pro which also only restores mostlly the apk's and ignores the specific changed settings

1. You can't, unless you disable "backup with google" ! BUT, the apps won't start downloading the moment you enter your google account, so you can STOP them from market. AFAIK, only after you ACCEPT the terms and conditions from Play store [after factory reset] only then the apps download themself !
2. NO and NO ! This is the dev's fault [I ALSO HATE THIS !!!] !
...Y U NO PUT SAVE ON SD Mr. Developer ???
You can do what you are saying there >ONLY< if you are rooted using TitaniumBackup !
