Hi,

I have had a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for about 3 months. Of late (especially after the upgrade to Jelly Bean) I have noticed that the backspace (<x), P and 0 (zero) keys frequently get jumbled up while typing.

When I tap the backspace key, then either P or 0 gets typed, but if I keep tapping the backspace key, eventually it is backspace that works.

So in summary, if I press backspace, either P or 0 get pressed.

Is there a software fix for this, or some test to determine if there is some hardware malfunction?

Would appreciate any advice...this is an extremely annoying problem! :(

If it is only the keyboard, then it might be a software problem. Try to see if you can replicate the issue n that spot in other applications.

The issue appears with both finger and pen based tapping on any landscape configuration of the keyboard but not on the portrait configuration somehow. So it does not have to do with that region -- it is a problem only with the keyboard.

Also, try to reset the keyboard's data and try some other keyboard from the Play Store.

What do you mean by reset keyboard data?

What do you mean by reset keyboard data?

Settings>Application Manager> All > Samsung keyboard> Clear data + Force stop.

Then go into Input options and set up the keyboard options you like again and see if the problem persists. I am pretty sure it is a software issue and f the above instructions do not help, try hard resetting the Note.
