Root Where Is The Rumored Jelly Bean Leak?!!

So, I got an e-mail about some rearranging of the forum over on the motorola discussion forums. Anyways the reason is because they stated that a Jelly Bean leak has be released. I have looked high and low over there as well as on xda and I can't find the leak to save my life. Now I'm not sure if it came out for another phone and not the bionic but I'm in the bionic specific forum over there and I wouldn't think that I would get the e-mail if it weren't meant for bionic owners would I?

Anyways, I thought I would throw the question out there as no one else has that is on ICS with the bionic. I love my phone, always have and I love ICS but I'm not really up for flashing a ROM even though I'm rooted. I just want the newest stuff....which would be Jelly Bean! Thanks everyone!! Hope I haven't restated anything that someone else already did. I looked before I posted but it's possible that I missed it.

There was a leak (sorta) for the Droid RAZR where there was a Jelly Bean update available, but Motorola quickly pulled it out. Some people got it. However, this was only for the RAZR, not the Bionic. Unless there is something else going on that I'm unaware about, but I don't believe there is.

My mistake...I went back to find the e-mail and to paste it here to show that I'm not crazy and I got the forum wrong. It's droidrzr.com that has done the separation of the forums into better categories. So...my bad. Not really caring to much about Jelly Bean per say, just want the newest stuff on my phone since all the new phones that are being put out right now are coming with it already on it.

I would love to have a Glaxay S3 but at the same time I think I would loose the lovely ICS or Jelly Bean right? Oh well....lol Long live the BIONIC!!!

Motoroogle have gone to unified updates for the RAZR line and the BIONIC, but that spells big disaster b/c those of us with a locked bootloader (namely, just about everyone except the newer M lines, I think) will have no way to root JB unless we back it up before the update comes - and no more FXZ,b/c a clean FXZ to JB locks the phone into JB without root and without a backup to restore either.

The same DroidRzr.com forum that had the thread reorganization also has a bounty for the RAZR JB exploit was already at $375 last I checked....

I was unaware of any of that. Thanks for the info. Also, since I'm rooted will I get the JB update? And it does seem strange that they would lock it so that we can't root it seeing as most carriers and makers of the phones are fine with us rooting because they learn a lot of things from those of us that do ROM's and root. Which in my eyes should show the makers of all of these wonderful devices that the people doing the rooting and ROM's should be given jobs. So, with all that said....I hope this JB gold hits soon.

VZW, for one, is not kosher with us rooting our phones.

As for rooted and getting update, as long as you are stock, you'll get the update notification soon after it is released.

From most of the consumers' point of view, yes.

However, from their own business POV, it makes a lot more sense. If you root your phone, you have the capability to change anything - things like locking the phone into 3G only mode, overclocking the CPU to twice its rated speed, or deleting the drivers for the screen. When something like that happens, and breaks the phone, and you can still flash back to stock, then they have no way of knowing that you, in fact, broke your own phone, and they are obligated to replace it when it is within its stated warranty period. That eats into their profit margin. And corporations and their shareholders don't like when profit margins are eaten into.

So, I wanted to bring this up in this thread rather than starting a new one that is just covering part of the current topic. So I'm jacking my own thread...slightly

So I was talking to my friend on Tuesday night asking him if he had taken the upgrade for ICS on his Razor Maxx yet? Well he hasn't and he said he is holding out for Android 4.4 or 4.3?? He said what he has read and heard is that it's coming out soon. I don't get it...Jelly Bean is the next operating system and it hasn't hit the Razor's or our phones yet. So I haven't even heard anything about it and there is a chance he misheard but I doubt it. He is pretty tech savy and well read on the subject. So what better place to come and bring my questions about this type of stuff to.....? You awesome guys!!! Honestly, I do want JB and I'd love to have it soon. But for there to be another one after JB.....man that's crazy.
