HTC Sense + Facebook

Hi there, my Desire arrived yesterday so I'm really glad! Got a question though.

I have synced Facebook with my list so all of my contacts come up under the Online Directories/Facebook page. Although everybody who has a phone number in their facebook profile isn't listed in the 'People' page, when I click the "Phone" button all the contacts from facebook with phone numbers appear.

Is there anyway to get rid of these, yet still have everyone listed in the Online Dirctories bit?

I have got People > Menu > View > 'Facebook' unselected, but all facebook contacts who have a mobile number stored on their profile automatically go onto the "Phone" tab, even if they aren't visable when you go to the People page.

I attempted to tell my phone to stop syncing the FB contacts, but this only failed to let it communicate with my contacts already on the phone and blocked all FB access to link to existing contacts.

My work around for now until this issue is possibly fixed is when on the phone tab press menu, then select people this will bring up your contacts list minus all the other FB stuff it drags into the main phone list

I encountered this problem and wanted a solution exactly how you want it.

What I did is removed the standard facebook sync as it is a global sync. This removed the un-necessary contacts but also removed the links to contacts that you wanted linked. (Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> facebook -> uncheck sync contacts)

To then link the contacts you want you need to go into the "people" app and select the contacts that you want to sync with facebook (I presume you will have these people as contacts). If you click on a person you wish to link, at the very top right should be a strange symbol. Something that looks like: C -O

Clicking that will take you to a page that allows you to link that contact with facebook!
Rinse and repeat with each contact you want to link.
