Need Guidance (N4 vs S3)

Hi folks!

I got a milestone (droidx) since 3 years now and I'm ready to move to another one since my contract ends at the end of the month. I was really tempted by the Nexus 4 last fall but since it was unavailable, I though I would go with the Samsung Galaxy S3.

But today, Nexus 4 is now available, both at Google Store and to one carrier in Canada, Videotron. I have several choices now but I don't know phones enough to make a good choice.

Here's my options;
- Stay at Telus with a 6Gb plan for 60$ a month (with a S3)
- Switch to Videotron with 1Gb plan for 50$ a month (with a N4)
- Buy a N4 directly at Google Store and browse offers as I like without 3-years contract.

As a matter of facts, I don't use more than 500mb per month so the 6Gb is a bit overkill. Though, I'm sure I won't be able to find such offer anywhere else.

Additionnaly, the S3 and N4 are at the same price (599$) without contract. But as far as I understand, S3 is better for the same price, am I correct?

Is N4 at Google Store is available US-only ?

Thanks a lot for your help, changing once each 3 years make the choice hard to make.

Regards

Welcome to the forums, Mercador! :)

You made an interesting first question/post. And one of the type that I always attempt to find the answer, or at least the leaning toward the answer, a hint of sorts, within the post/question itself.

Sometimes that's hard to do. :D

You'll get several opinions and the reasoning behind them here.. I'll offer only that you need to go to the stores where the devices are offered, and play with them for a long time. Handle them, visualize owning each one. Annoy the floor monkeys with questions about the plans and prices, but be careful about being led to what they want to sell to you instead of what you want to buy from them.

Other than that... have fun .. it is a fun process if you allow it to be just that. :)

Thanks!

Well, actually, I'm not sure the Nexus 4 is already on the floor since it was available only today at Videotron. I'll take a look saturday probably.

But I was wondering, phone by phone, same value (for me at least in Canadaland), which one is the best? S3 seems to have some nice addons but N4 got the newest android OS...

And with the S4 around the corner, I wonder if I should wait 3-4 months more...
