This might be the long way around, but this is how I get it done:
I first get my PDF files into Dropbox. From Dropbox, I then export them to the Downloads folder on the (internal) SD card of my Note. (If I could figure out how to get directly into Dropbox from S Note, that would save a step. Anyone have ideas?) I suppose I could also use Airdroid between my PC and my Note to wirelessly move the PDF files into my Note downloads folder (or other location). That would also skip the export from Dropbox step.
OK - back in S Note, click Options (the 3 lines in the upper right corner) and choose Import
Select PDF file
Make your way to the location of your PDF (for me, it's my SD card Downloads
(Here is the tricky part): When your list of PDF files appears, tap the
radio button of the file you wish to import. (Don't click the file name or it will attempt to launch in your PDF viewer). Once you have that radio button selected, click DONE in the upper right corner. This takes you back to S Note and the import process begins.
Once the file is imported, you can switch on the editing tools and write, draw, markup, insert clips, etc. You can add new pages at the end, or in between existing pages (this is cool). You can save the entire creation back to S Note, or export as a PDF as you are currently doing.
I was using EZPDf to mark up PDF files but I find I like S Note much better.
Here's a little video posted by another forum member on importing PDF files into S Note. Not narrated, but you can see the process and get an idea as to how long it takes (not long) to pull in a 60-page PDF.
Hope this helps!
It is fantastic for work, I use mine for meeting note taking, to do lists and use the capture tool (press button on s pen and draw around what you need) on any documents, webinars etc and paste them into my Notes.
I do engineering work and have books full of sketched diagrams from the past but it's all done in S Note now and enhanced with any diagrams, tables etc from other docs pasted in using the capture tool, I never cut out diagrams and glued them in my paper note books before I had the note!
I have started doing 1 Note per month with all work and meetings then back it up and also export to pdf
on Google Drive so it's secure and available on other devices. This way it's easy to archive and find meeting notes.
Another tip I have for note taking is to use a lined background to help keep notes and diagrams neat, but if I need to print them I change the background to plain white before exporting to pdf and printing to save ink.
However I have not worked out how to open a pdf in S Note? I can open it in Polaris office or adobe pdf and make limited notes but it is not nearly as good as S Note.
Can you share how you open pdf in S Note please?
