Help Just ordered my 3rd replacement...

I just ordered my third refurb replacement, for headphone jack issues this time and every time. Does anyone else have this problem? I use my phone for Pandora and Spotify, so I plug and unplug a cable into it for my car 4 times or more per day, not counting when I use my earbuds. I don't abuse it, drop it, or yank the cord out quickly. My first two times were within 6 months of getting it, and for the 6 months I had my Rezound, I NEVER had this problem.

Is this a major issue? I don't mind replacing this for free, but I want to get a phone next time that doesn't have this problem. Fruit phone people laugh at me saying theirs doesn't have this problem, and even fellow Android users laugh at my Maxx.

2 out of the 4 that I've had would sometimes not put any sound through to the speaker sometimes when the headset was unplugged.

Plugging a headset in and unplugging it always fixed it. I've been thinking about getting another replacement. It gets old sometimes having to hunt a cord to get my sound working.

I'm sorry but I'd ask for a different phone after the 2nd one didn't work out. I only had to go thru 2 bionics to get to the Razr MAXX. And nothing was really seriously wrong with the second one, just an annoyance of signal lost off and on but it never affected my service overall.

Sorry for that slight jack of the thread but if that is a major issue for you then just complain that it's a big problem for you because of the way you use the phone and ask for a different type of phone.

It's all about who you talk to and how you talk to them. I wasn't suppose to get a Razr M or MAXX but I did. I talked to tech support and they wanted to give me a LESSER phone like the Thunderbolt. I had to talk to Motorola and they wanted to take my phone in for repair but I told them to go to hell. Verizon got me to tech support again and the guy offered me the M because it was only 50 bucks more in price. I didn't like it, so I sent it back and asked if I could get the MAXX since it's a straight trade across from the M. I might have been able to squeeze the S3 out of them but that's how I got my MAXX.

I love the MAXX. But I still want the S3 or Note 2. Anyways, give it a shot and honestly if you end up with the M....tell them it's to small for you and try the DNA. That might work.

They're not going to give you a phone that's newer and more expensive than your phone. They'll probably offer you a galaxy nexus, which everyone should stay away from

Not true.

As said at a later post, it depends who you talk to and how you talk. My co-worker bought a Razr (none Maxx) about 6-8 weeks ago, he uses it all day at the office (work related), so it overheated to the point where the screen cracked under the top glass. They shipped him a refurb, that cracked, so 3 phones later Verizon just flat out told him to pick out what he wants and he got a brand new SGS3.

If there is no physical damage point of it hitting the ground to cause the crack then I could see them replacing it. And if it's a known issue then it's not going to be a problem either.

Notice its always "my co worker" or my friend or I know someone who.... When stories like that are told.

There have been posts where the user woke up and his screen was cracked and had to fight with Verizon to get it replaced

Find that very hard to believe bro. I've seen numerous reports where the screen cracked "by itself" like you are saying, and they refused any warranty because of physical damage. Very unlikely they would give him a brand new phone after one replacement.

Why would I make something like this up? I have nothing to gain or lose by this info.

Try after 3 phones. He actually created a web site with this issue and motorola asked him to shut it down as it was bringing too much attention. I'll post the link if he still has it running. After the 3rd phone went, Verizon kicked in and told him to pick what he wants.

As I said previously, it's my co-worker, here is the face book page he created: https://www.facebook.com/MotoRAZRCracked

He had an actual site, which he might have closed, so yes, something it's a friend or a co worker and the story is a true one.

I made a comment on one picture that said "Copyright 2009" and I asked why that is, when the Razr didn't come out until 11-11-11.

Maybe if my headphone jack goes out again, before asking for a 4th replacement, I will make a facebook page too!
