Can anyone please tell me what the advantages/disadvantages are of getting a phone from Best Buy as opposed to from Sprint themselves? I already know about getting the rebates right away from BB as opposed to MIR from Sprint, I was just wondering if there were any others. I can't decide which would be a better option for me when the EVO arrives.

This post suggest Sprint maybe getting rid of MIR's http://androidforums.com/htc-evo-4g/54768-official-htc-evo-4g-wimax-thread-52.html#post553726Can anyone please tell me what the advantages/disadvantages are of getting a phone from Best Buy as opposed to from Sprint themselves? radio shack, huh?
Yup - caught this too. It's April 12th and Radioshack already has 143,621 phones in their inventory system. Looks like they're on schedule for a release before June 6th as I've heard before.
Were is jackson? Hope he has some insight with the news today...
It's all speculation at this point, but I don't think the inventory sheet is fake. I don't believe it's pending either. As far as the other things you mentioned, SprintFun, maybe they decided it was better to release the phone early as so many were suggesting a week or so ago. If Sprint wants to make sure all the updates are in place before they release the phone, fine, but don't expect it until June. On the other hand, if they think they can do the updates over the air, then great. Bring it on! I'm all for it, but I'm going to hold back a little just in case.
June 6th sounds more realistic than an April or May release. I'm just as eager as the next guy but these things are no small matter. There is software to be tested and finalized, ROMs to be flashed, ad campaigns to be choreographed and rolled out, etc. Timing is everything in this market and these will be out before long. Anyway, enjoy "Silly Season" as they used to say over on the Palm forums. Before you know it you will have had the Evo for 8 months or a year and will have discovered all the pros and cons, tried all the apps, and will be drooling for the next big thing.
Sounds like an announcement and possibly an ad campaign will be starting later this week with maybe a Best Buy pre-launch or at least pre-sale late May and a full launch around June 6th or so. That's less than two months off so start saving your cash! This thing will probably cost between $200 and $300 even for new customers and upgrades.
lol
"It's carrying a completely reasonable $5,555 pricetag, and the appropriate HTC A9292 model number."
What you just said Android 17 reminded me of when this thread was a poll that asked; Are you giving up on the Supersonic? Out of the blue, someone came in the same way LS1 just did and he uploaded a picture. It was his first post and he never came back again, but what he left us was beautiful, because it was obviously a picture of the Supersonic (EVO 4G) that I had never seen anywhere on the Internet before that. If you're interested, here is the post. It was before CTIA and that's what made it even more surprising, but to me, it was like a gift from heaven, if you get my drift.Though I would love it to be true, I really doubt it would release on the 29th, still, I hope the inventory sheet is real!
I love how people with insider info and just overall near-expert knowledge keep popping up and posting here!
This thread is becoming more reliable and informative than websites like Engadget =P
Hey Fellas! I can't say very much, but I just wanted to share a juicy little morsel with you. Like you, I can't wait to have the Evo. It's that much harder when its within your reach.

We won't be waiting much longer - if you catch my drift.
