Hello all,

My girlfriend saw a nice phone, the Karbonn S1 Titanium.
It's an Indian phone,it costs like 10.000 INR,wich is cheap ..
Can i buy the phone from the site or anywhere else in India, and if ilet it ship to here (Belgium),will i be able to use the phone?

Greetings.

You should be able to use it in Belgium OK, it's 900/1800/2100MHz tri-band. It probably wont work in North America. Not sure if Karbonn is the manufacturer or they just import Chinese phones, probably the latter.

You more than likely won't have any warranty if you're not using it in India. Plus the quality and reliability of many of these budget dual SIMs can be very variable to say the least.

Well, she won't be using the dual sim option,or do you have to?
Is the phonediffrent from an normal smartphone because it has the Dual sim mode?

Not really, and she won't need two SIMs. It just allows you to choose from two different SIMs. Thing you have to watch for is the quality of many of them. Bricking is a common problem with them, as well as general reliability and usability issues. Some of them can be truly dreadful. To be frank, I don't know much about the Karbonn S1, apart from the fact it looks like a Chinese phone of unknown manufacture, so good luck. And the fact it's coming from India rather than China, won't necessarily make things any better.

Dual SIM phones are popular in China because of provincial roaming charges when travelling. I have one SIM for Xilinhot and another SIM for Beijing, but I only want to carry one phone.
