Help Not Happy With Battery Life

I think with battery you need to find what works for you, play around with settings and apply the common sense setting in you! One thing I learned is to stop charging your phone unless it's at 15% or below, long term it will wreck your battery if you keep constantly 'topping up' with short charges.

Also if you're a flasher wipe your battery stats when flashing a ROM or they will be meaningless and shouldn't be trusted.

you are thinking about nicad or nimh batteries.
for lion batteries, I avoid going lower than 30%.

I just got my n4 a couple of days ago, unsure about battery life. Went to bed at midnight with 90% woke up at 7am had 74%. Put it on charge for 20 minutes this morning, it said fully charged, then when I unplugged it from the charger it went back down to 74%!

something is running in the background preventing the phone from sleeping. you should only be losing 1-2% overnight.

I go two charges a day. one before sleeping and another in afternoon.

estimate activity per day:
display and FPSE are the two dominant factors on my battery drainage around 60-70% combined
10minutes talking
30-1hour running FPSE
30 minutes web surfing on network
15-30mnts on wifi watching movie aka porn
100msgs+ viber and text messages
sync on all the time
no widgets running

I'm very impressed with stock 4.2.2 battery. Here is mine while I wait for a RMA. One hour and 45 minutes screen on time.

the battery life with 4.2.2 has improved 1000% percent. I couldnt get through a complete day with light/moderate use without finding a charger. now I can go two days with light/moderate use.

it has transformed my battery and phone to a phone I liked to a phone I love.

do the upgrade and you will see the improvement. I promise.

So I went and downloaded Juice Defender, it seems to be helping with the battery life as the phone lasts longer while on idle since it turns off all the data and junk

As a general rule of thumb I keep clear of apps like Juice Defender, as they can cause problems. The latest releases of Android handle everything for you.

But if you're getting favorable results from it then who am I to argue :D

If anybody's interested there's a new app available from Qualcomm in the play store called Snapdragon BatteryGuru.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiam.snapdragon.app

Heck, it's from the company that makes our processor and worthy of a shot.
Still in the 2nd day of the learning mode of the app myself.

The first day I didn't notice a difference, but today so far running on about 49% of battery with Moderate use, on about 14hrs unplugged

I'm on 4.22, after 1st or maybe second charge and trying to hold off from charging until I get to about 15% as advised to me from here somewhere.

Currently on 1d 44m with 39% remaining, but spent a lot of time playing yesterday to configure things.

Wifi seems to stay on when I'm in work and doesn't sleep and using Bluetooth in car, but in the middle of setting up with Tasker to disable Bluetooth when I'm not in the car

Any more info about this app? I hear learning mode takes about a week? and that it drains the battery more at first?

Read link to app in play store for more info. Also there's a thread at XDA on the app. Remember app is beta so there are more questions than answers.

Only had 3% battery use from BatteryGuru app IMO nothing to freak out about.

Update: learning mode finally completed an hour ago pretty much 2 days after installing. App suggests checking it's progress after a day or more.
