Album Art not working?

Not sure if you are still having this problem, but I was in the same boat as you, however I found out what was causing my issue, hopefully this might help you. I placed all my music in a folder called music(I created). Unfortunately some of album art was recognized and most were not. After searching for a week or so I came a cross android's open source site from a helpful poster over at androidcommunity.com and after looking at the code that he refered I was able to figure out(for my case at least) that in order for the album art to show up properly on my desire ROM I needed to have all my music in the "\media\audio\" directory with the album art of each album in it's respective folder. I did name the jpeg album art file to the name "AlbumArt.jpg" for each album. I sorted my music in the SD card as follow:

"\media\audio\artist\album\" in the album directory I had the mp3 songs along with the AlbumArt.jpg file

I understand how frustrating this thing can get especially if your OCD like me and hate having your album art not showing up when playing music :p

When I tried this method, every song was skipped with the message "Unable to play this type of file."

as soon as I put my music on mine I got this error.

but in the corner of the music app there was a spinning circle as to say "loading" once that had stopped all worked fine.

So i'm guessing you have to wait for the music app to "refresh" its library

If you are using windows media player the sync option syncs the music but does not sync art.

1. Delete all files in music folder on htc desire.

2. copy all folders inside of my music on the pc and paste them in music folder on htc desire.

Hope this helps. Every time you add music to media player you will have to update the new stuff manually which sucks. If you do sync the art will just not show up on the new things synced.

HTC Album art problem
The album art is tagged in the mp3 file. If you down loaded from a various artists or top 40 charts album then you may have multiple mp3 files with the same album name so the tags get mixed up or just the first on to be found with the tag is recognised and that art is displayed. To differentiate between mp3 files from the same various artists album the mp3 needs it own name, not the name of the various artist album. this can be set by right clicking the mp3 file you want to amend. A dialog box will open with all the info about the mp3 file. click on the details tab. Then under the Media heading it gives the option to change the album name by clicking on it. Change it to the name of the mp3 file. All album art will now go to the correct mp3 file.
