So i used the pwnage tool to root my spectrum, and everything goes as planned. Fast forward two months and i wake up to my phone at the LG screen showing "Secure Booting Error! Cause: Boot certification verify."

I've tried the power+vol factory reset and it always goes back to the LG screen with the error message. Any ideas?

Did you just root or actually unlock the bootloader?

Rooted and unlocked, OTA is a possible culprit but wouldn't it ask me first?
If you took the OTA, it would relock your boot loader, causing the security error. Flash the v8 cab without wiping data, then use the unlock tool again to gain root and an unlocked boot loader. There is also a file buried in the forums for an OTA block. It was back in the v4/v6 days, but the file it removes should still block OTAs in ICS.
