I have the official beta of Swype, and have been trying to delete a word from the dictionary with no success. In the manual it says to select the word you want to delete, short-tap the Swype key, and you'll be presented with a dialog asking if you want to delete the word. Whenever I short-tap the Swype key, I get the tutorial prompt.

Anyone have any luck doing this?

Okay, I got it to work. I appears the Swype dictionary and the Swype dictionary store differently.

Not sure I followed that... :D

I highlighted the word by double-tapping, and after I tapped on the Swype button the option to delete it from the Swype dictionary was given.

Hmmm... I tried this and nada. It took me forever to get the word to highlight by double-tapping it. And when it did and I hit the Swype key, I got the freaking tutorial screen again.

I just got my droid last week and messing around with all the apps..
I tried shapewriter and downloaded the .5612.apk version of the swype beta..
looking at the swype site it looks like they shut down the beta.. what is the latest or best version of swype for the droid..

also.. has anyone had any issues with their case preventing some swype functions..
seems that the "hold delete" and delete a whole word function is hit and miss.. I just got a case and just noticed it today.. I can delete letter by letter but when I hold the key it just does nothign and then when I release I get a bink bink noise.. the swype key seems to not work as well either..

also, somehow while hitting the delete key my swype change from English to Spanish.. no idea how that happened.

took the case that goes on the screen part off and it seems to work.. but still only sometimes..

my dictionary changed on me.... i couldnt understand why the swype words were all wrong all the time... i couldnt recognize some of hte words, and it turns out the dictionary was changed to SPANISH...

I know a little spanish, but didnt recognize the words that were being suggested...
except problem/problema

i tried for ten minutes on trying to get swype to enter problem, and not problema... i kept on deleting the A, and it kept coming back...

not sure how it changed he dictionary...
