Yep, but why bother getting a locked down ipad when android powered tablets are right around the corner?

Says who? Google just said last week they are "considering" the possibilities of a tablet. They haven't even spoken to anyone to build it. If it does happen, won't be till next year at the earliest. If you mean that notion Adam tablet, that will be lucky to sell 20k units. I hope google puts out an android tablet but they really need to focus on getting the android phones streamlined and organize the market before they do anything else
Ummm, have you done a Google search for Android Tablet? First of all, Archos has already had one out on the market since last year.
A German company is soon releasing the WePad in Europe.
It also appears Asus may also be releasing one. Also look up the Cydle M7 Android Tablet.
The latest rumors are just from Google, not necessarily all hardware makers. Think of it as the Nexus One. There were other android phones before it, but the Nexus One was the first one released by and endorsed by Google.
Android tablets are coming and they'll start coming out later this year.
Haven't heard of any of those and I bet you neither have tons of others which is not a good sign.
Is there a way to drive a wifi connection from the Hero to an ipad?
Oh, the Archos 5? That's got a little 4.8 inch screen and it's only 800x480 resolution. Don't really consider that a tablet. The Evo will outsell that for sure. I want to see a 10 inch Google tablet made by HTC with full 1080 display and all the bells and whistles for under $600. Then i will sell the iPad
It works for my laptop and Ipod, so i dont see why it would't work for an Ipad..
Do my senses detect an apple fanboy..?
If you follow android even a little not sure how you could miss all the talk of an android tablet. Dell is even making one. Download the engadget app from the market, they always have the latest.
I am in fact sending this from my Ipad wirelessly tethered to my Sprint HTC Hero I'm so glad I didn't wait and pay the extra for the wifi/3G version.

And/or the Phandroid app for every piece of news related to Google and Android
I havent used the internet once on my phone since I got the iPad. Far too spoiled by the amazing 10 inch display to go back to a tiny little 3.2 inch screen. Everything feels so cramped and not nearly as detailed. I will have to keep an eye on that site though.
I have an iMac, MacBook and iPad but I also have a hero and love HTC and Android. Why can't I like both? I must say, the iPad is quite nice though. I am laying in the backyard in the sun by the pool typing this right now. Love it

LOL, can you carry that 10" display with you everywhere? I don't browse the internet much on my phone when I'm at home either.
