In the spirit of the thread "My Hero Rocks!", let's hear why Galaxy users are (at least) just as happy! :D

No negativity is welcome here! There are plenty threads for that.

My Galaxy rocks because:

It's delightfully slim!
So much nicer to have in my pocket than my previous Palm Treo.

It's got an amazing display!
Great for reading ebooks, even out in the sun.

it has the best display on the market

ive modified it with open home and it looks teh sex

its an understated device and people dont know how cool this little baby is.

people keep trying to compare it to iphone and fail as this is not supposed to be an iphone.

people say "you cant do this" and proceed to show me google maps street view on their 3gs. i snigger to my self and relish at their upset when the realise in actual fact it does do it and it does it well on top of that i can have upto 40gig of disk pace.

at this point i look at them, wink and whisper OWNED

Hi All,
I agree with you. Samsung has produced a great phone Its just a pitty the software is not quite up to par,I feel that we are being used as Beta tester's,if it was not for this forum I would still be on the phone to the french samsung hotline with someone telling me that I counld not connect to NPS because of my firewall or my antivirus program. Here's to a bug free Samsung i7500 ...;)

The design - the white, thin body really makes it stand out & it's guaranteed to be picked up by someone for a look if i leave it on a table or something.
It's fast and smooth (commented on by a couple people)
It's capacitative
The screen (one of the girls was oo-ing over it the other night while looking at pics)
The app store grows everyday
It can do everything the iphone can do, but better (i absolutely hate my friends who came from a nokia 3310 and think the iphone is the pinnicle of technology)
Widgets
THE D-PAD! Hugely underated - i've used trackballs before in blackberrys & they can be oversensitive, prone to damage, and kinda creepy. I use the D-pad all the time when web browsing to select hyperlinks that are too close together for fingers (like this site for one). It's also v handy for quick and accurate cursur placement for texts.

Also i'd just like to take the time to mention a couple games which i think are v good:
-robo defense
-gogo rescue squad
-mechanics
-retrodefense
-labyrinth
-brain genius
-neocore(for showing off)
-mystique(supposedly - but i havent figured out how to move forwards in it!)

I only have one complaint (i know no negativity allowed, but i dont think this counts as negativity, just a minor annoyance) - is the dedicated keylock button. If there was the option to make that redundant the galaxy wud pretty much be the perfect phone.

What I like:
- AMOLED
- design (on my opinion nicer then htc android phones)
- camera/flash
- D-pad (i agree...much better than trackball)
- fast and responsive after last update
- overall great hardware packed in slim device :)

What I don't like:
- firmware (it's getting better though)
- samsung customer support (there is no information about new firmware updates, nps is useless...well without this forum I would probably alredy returned this phone)
- Keypad is not illuminated and there is not even one diode on the phone to show missed calls...

I have a Hero. I have everything on (except gps), it checks gmail by push and poll a pop3 ymail server every 15 minutes. I use it quite a bit, although not for music or vids.

If I turn it off before bedtime (10.30) it will easily do 2 full days.

I don't think enough is said about the signal strength in your particular area. I believe it's the biggest killer of any cellphone battery - poor signal.

i never turn it off unless it runs out on me.
if you are turning it off at night you are saving about 6-7 hrs of battery life

indeed but he claims hes getting 2.5 days. this cannot be doing more than sitting in his pocket idle with every turned off

id be so happy if mine could do that lol, to be fair i dont know 1 smartphone that can other than a blackberry

I get two full days using it as much as i want. Only used it for texts amd a small bit of browsing today and reckon I couls get day 3 out of it. I'm only 2g thougj - must be the difference
