T-mobile prism Q&A: (reviews, advice, tips)

hmmm...........interesting there's no threads about how this phone is, Anyway I'm trying to find out more about this phone due to me wanting to get it as a backup and or just switch back to t-mobile services.........

1: Can you get wifi tethering when on the prepaid plan, if not can I add the service to it.?

2: Is there a way to move the throttling if I go over my 3g data plan?

3: There's an app. at google play store called "papercam" this app. has a recording feature that only works on certain android phones, does anyone know if that recording feature is allowed on this phone.?

Well......I guess that's it for now heheheh, thanks for any answers you guys give me,

Not sure what you mean by 'WiFi tethering', but if your question is whether the Prism can connect to a WiFi router, it can. If you want to tether a laptop to the phone and use the mobile network for data, that is also possible with the Prism, but as to whether there is a charge for it or if it's even available on Monthly4G, I do not know.

Once you reach the specified 4G data allowance according to your plan (The current $70/month Monthly4G plan offers unlimited 4G data.), the speeds are automatically throttled down to 2G (or EDGE) speeds for the remainder of the current service month, then it goes back to 4G speeds when the plan renews for the next month.

As far as any apps go, you would have to go to the Play store with the phone to see if a certain app will work. I think it's a safe bet to say that the vast majority of apps will work with phones that have Gingerbread (2.3.x) or later installed on them. The Prism has version 2.3.6 installed.

Hope this info helps.

I'm thinking of going with the prepaid plan and was wondering if I'll be able to browse the net and connect my phone's Wi-Fi signal to my computer (if it's included with the plan. ) and if it's not included to know how much it would be to add it. I have a lg motion 4g phone and am wanting to get this phone as a backup just in case I can't pay my bill anymore.

I see what you're trying to do. I know that you can connect the computer to the phone and use the phone's mobile data to web browse (Again, not sure if this is allowed or available under the Monthly4G plans.), but I don't believe the phone's software will allow the same to occur for a WiFi connection.
