Putting music on SD card??

I have no room left on my internal storage, but I have a TON of room on my SD card. I know how to put my music files onto the SD card but is there anyway to get Google Play Music to play those files? If not is there another really good app for music that will?

Welcome, Jessie.

Trying a shot in the dark here... ;)

You didn't name your device, or if it's rooted, but let's pretend it's a rooted S3 for the moment, because the concept is similar for most rooted newer Android devices (quite different for some but you'll let me know if I'm too far off :D).

Try these steps outlined at XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003930):

required app: ROM Toolbox

1. Open Settings > Application manager > All > Google Play Music
2. Select "Force stop" and "Clear data"
3. Open ROM Toolbox > Root Browser
4. Create the following folder on your SD card /mnt/extSdCard/GoogleMusic/files
5. Tap and hold the folder named "files" until menu appears, and select "Create shortcut" at the bottom of the list
6. Navigate to /data/data/com.google.android.music/
7. Select "Create" and the "files" folder should be linked
8. Open "Play Music" app and sync
9. Select "Choose on device music" and it should show the available space on your sd card

If you're not rooted, and the device is a Motorola this or that, etc.. post about that and we'll get you going in the right area with the right info. :)
