"Adult apps"....

Ok, I cant be the only one noticing the adult xxx apps popping up now. Are they all just pranks or does the market acctually allow those kinda apps now?

And another thing, as a gay man im kinda offended by seeing all these apps that have girls in just underwear as the icon... If there are going to be those kinda apps out there, they really need to make other apps to fit the gay community....

Well Google has a strict policy against nudity, or sexually explicit content, so I imagine the apps you see are no more than skin apps, perhaps with a teasing title or description, but no nudity or sex.

As far as the heterosexual vs. homosexual content, Google also doesn't allow discrimination based on sexual orientation, so if there isn't an app that appeals to gays, it's probably just because no one has made one.

I also want to say that Google's policy also mirrors our policy, please keep that in mind going forward for any posts in this thread. Thanks.

(but seriously, apps follow the money. IF (and where) those style of apps are allowed, they will target the groups that they think are the most lucrative to pursue. Initially, that may not be true. But once the market settles, it's all about where the money can be made.)

They do, search "gay" in the Play Store, perhaps you'll find something to suit your needs, there's quite a few apps targeted to the gay community.

Which apps are made is decided by developers, many of those are gay as you'd expect.

Ya I found the "dating" apps, or if thats what they want to call them. But all those apps do is make the gay community look disgusting, because people use them for the wronng purposes.... Plus im already taken. Lol

The ones for the straight community are pretty similar then, lol, plus, ditto.

I saw thousands hit on the tag, and thought, ok, probably gotta be something!

I see you're expressing your displeasure by putting up an avatar that is similar to the app icons. Only problem with that is it doesn't affect Google Play which is who you are having the issue with.

I wouldn't trust a single one of these types of apps anyway. They're all malware infested as can be. I see no point in downloading one of these when anyone with an internet connection can find something similar, or better without risk.

My avatar isnt expressing anything besides showing my face for a screen name. Its completly rated PG and isnt intending anything provocative or anything in that mannor, and isnt something you wouldn't see on the Disney channel. This avi was put up way before posting this thread.

It might depend on what country you're in, if you see content that is for a particular persuasion or group. If that group is considered acceptable or not by the government or beliefs or culture whatever. Here in China one just does not see much of gay anything, nevermind apps. One has to actually look hard for those kind of materials.

I'm sure that's the case with the vast majority of those soft porn and dating apps. The least one is likely to get is annoying push advertising for other soft porn and dating apps. Or worse, they're sending expensive premium rate SMSs or all your private data and everything you do is been phoned home and uploaded to some nefarious servers in Russia or China.
