Root [T-Mobile] Some Basic Root ROM Update Questions

Hi
Got so bored of waiting for TMobile UK to update my S3 to Jelly Bean 4.1 (I read somewhere today that it may not be until March this year...) that I have rooted my device.

Now what I need to do is install either a 4.1.1/4.1.2 JB ROM on my phone.

I think I can do this no problem, however a couple of questions
- My CSC is still set as the TMobile default one, can I install a BTU (international generic default one I think) on to my TM CSC?
- Will I lose data like saved games? Have spent the last few weeks playing a lot of GTA Vice City, don't want to lose it!! Kies doesn't seem as good as iTunes at caching game save data, will this be a problem?

Cheers

Thanks. Anyone got any ideas on this?

Theres about a billion things online about this and its all a bit overwhelming for someone who has no idea.

- Does it matter which version of 4.1.2 (official samsung one) I install
- How do I avoid losing saved game files and other data?

bump. I am still on 4.1.1 as well. Tried the Voodoo OTA temp unroot app and I still cannot update. How do I update my t-mo S3 to the latest and greatest?

Sorry man but 4.1 jellybean is the latest and greatest for your non rooted s3 but no worries u will be getting a update before long to make ur s3 lte compatible which will probably be 4.1.2 or 4.2 but thats not official news and dont know when it will happen we should know more march 26 but on the other hand ypu can root if not already rooted and get custom roms which offer higher end performances and functionality I hope this helps
