Help The number do dropped calls on this phone is ridiculous!!!!

I saw some older threads on dropped calls with this phone. I didn't have a problem until a week or so ago. Now I drop calls daily!!! Even when the signal strength is 4 bars!!!

It's ridiculous!!!!! Really starting to hate this phone!!

I'm just going to hazard a guess here, but I'm going to assume you have sprint as your service provider. if that is the case, then your area is undergoing network vision and it's going to be rough for a little bit. Call your service provider and see what's going on. I have sprint and it was 3 months of almost no service in my home area. Now that the works is completed, I have great service again.

Actually I have AT&T. I got the phone in January and it's been fine until the last week or so. I called AT&T, they did some type of a reregistraion of the phone. That didn't work, so today they had me pull the battery to see if that helps. I don't know yet because I haven't used the phone much today since they did that. My daughter has an iPhone with no problems, so it's not the service in the area. I'm thinking it might be a hardware issue, but not sure yet.

For the other forum member, I guess I was just trying to see if other people find that they are having the same issue.

I'm in the UK, so I have the model that 70% of the world has (all the other US models making up the other 30%) so it's kind of a different story for us.

The signal on my S3 (the international version) has never been strong. With every android update, we get a new baseband (radio) and some of them have been worse for me and I have had a few dropped calls here and there, but nothing like you report.

mine drops more calls that that I can complete. It is the worst phone for dropped calls I have ever had. I have verizon. It takes forever to even start to dial at times upwards of 3 minutes to even start to dial the number sometimes. Hope my life never revolves around a call made on my GS3. Same goes for internet I have 1x 90% of the time anymore but still charge me a premium rate.

This is why more people should save up and buy a sim free phone imo. Get a pre-pay sim, if the coverage gets bad or something cheaper comes along, drop the carrier like a stone and take your money elsewhere ;)

Problem is, here in the states the prepaid plans aren't anything to write home about. Most have very low data caps and walmart :)thumbdown: ) even has it in their terms of service that you can't stream videos

Tmobiles is the start to something great. I hope other carriers follow suit.

coming from a droid razr I will say the antenna on this phone is definitely weaker. I'm on Verizon as well and if I'm inside of my house and holding my phone to my ear to talk the signal drops to almost nothing and then the call drops. The only fix is to use an ear piece or speaker phone. And some days those methods are not enough. Just the other day I had to walk OUTSIDE my house and stand in the middle of the street in order to get a good signal to continue a conference call with my bosses
