This would be insane if sprint/tmobile only had 8gb and 16gb options. This would make it an absolute no buy for me. At this point they may as well add sd card support if this is true. Anyway, only time will tell but I know one thing, HTC can't afford to be bs'ing around or it will be a very short 2013 for them.

Yeah,I think the source of the 8GB & 16GB varieties (POCKET LINT),was thinking of the NEXUS 4 when he put that in the article.However,there were earlier reports of 8 OR 16 GB (can't remember) versions for a couple of select Asian markets. I seriously don't think we'll be seeing any of those outside of that region,if they do indeed ever exist.

The 16 GB Taiwan-only model (according to HTC statements at the time) retailed for NTD 19,900 or about $670.

Those with a 3vo will recall that came with 4 GB of storage, just for os, phone and apps, only 1 GB for apps. The One X doubled that, and 6 GB was reserved.

I don't know where this 8 number is coming from. Does anyone believe that they're even going to try building a phone with only 2 GB of additional user storage? I sure don't. Unless it's going to magically going to get an sd card.

This exclusivity nonsense will be the downfall for htc. People won't switch carriers for an HTC phone, they would rather settle for another device. Bad move by HTC. Should get every model on every carrier possible.

AT&T was not the first US carrier to announce that they'd be offering the phone.

At each carrier's announcement, they'd already made their deals and placed their orders.

I'm not happy about this. But I don't believe that the cause is HTC not wanting to push more high-end product. Just saying.

Hard to say.Some will want it for one reason or another,regardless of the extra $,whether they actually need it or not.

I have to admit I was one of those that weren't too happy w/the latest rumblings regarding storage capacity,but the truth is that I have a 16GB phone w/an additional 64GB via external SD slot & barely put a dent in either,w/about 95% unused.

Should my carrier offer a higher capacity after I purchase a 32GB model,so be it.Shame on me if I get miffed over it,regardless of circumstance or specs,the next best thing is gonna be right around the corner anyway.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I had 32GB on my Nexus and it was almost full, but that was because of ROMs and nand backups. Since I am running stock on my DNA, with only 16GB, I still have 8GB free

Yep, I have about 12GB devoted to ROMs and nandroids, another 12 G to music and audio books, and still have 8-10 free, depending on how good I've been with housekeeping.... Good to see that the 8-16 G rumor seems to be just that, and no substance.

You never know, it looked like the $299 might be the new standard for awhile, then the prices went back down.

$200 has been the Sprint price on contract for each of the top Evos since 2010, as I recall their One X variant was cheaper last year compared to other carriers as well. I've seen them go for more on day one at Sprint stores, but always some deal at Best Buy or Radio Shack. Street price of two hundred on Sprint at launch makes perfect sense.

Recall when we first started this, we expected $250/$300 for 32/64 GB.

You'd think HTC would know whether this was true or not, right? I just feel it's Verizon being their typical controlling self, and got ticked off that HTC was speaking for them.

There is some hope that the HTC6445LVW is Verizon's "Droidified" One... Aka DNA Plus. But who knows.

The iPhone released as an ATT exclusive when half the industry was laughing at dumb Apple taking on the Blackberry and Windows phone. ATT execs bragged about how they got the great end of the contract deal.

Same kind of laughter from the iPod days and the launch of the iTunes Music Store, that changed our approach to buying music online.

Many of us then correctly predicted the iPhone future - ATT struggling to break the contract and take control and failing - and other carriers scrambling to pick up the brand.

Not because they wanted the iPhone, but because they wanted ATT's iPhone business.

No one ever beat Steve Jobs at contracting and his control model continued and grew.

Meanwhile, all of the other makers had been making phones longer and were used to contracted carrier deals, with model and name variations.

Momentum.

The mighty giant Samsung didn't break free until last year. Before that, the Sprint SGS2 was called the Epic 4G Touch or something and it had a keyboard.

You still can't buy a Motorola RAZR Maxx in the USA, you get the Verizon Droid RAZR Maxx.

The press loves to beat up on HTC.

Much of the press harbors a weird, creepy iPhone envy though.

Motorola was going under. Google bought them. Find one story about how their goofy naming has to stop.

You can't. You can find many stories about how they can't wait to hear what the Motorola X is going to be called.

Right next to stories slamming HTC for practices common to the others.

And anyone who thinks that there was only one SGS3 had better check their facts - or our forums.

Earlymon.. reasons like this is why I love this forum as opposed to android central.

Here it is facts and articles and information and I would say mostly objective posting, as to there it is all fanboy banter with a few dabbings of information that is overlooked by the fanboy drivel.

I got my undergrad in Biology, so I am forever researching everything and attempt to look at everything with an unbiased opinion (though I love HTC since the Hero..though my hero bricked due to an OS update but luckily my EVO saved the day).
