Root [Sprint] Best ROM (JellyBomb)

Hey everyone, I just thought I'd let you know about this new ROM for the Sprint (not sure if it only works with Sprint) Galaxy Note II. It's got tons of features with more being added all the time, and the dev's super involved with it and quick to respond to any issues you're having. I'd say it's worth checking out for those people who are looking for a custom ROM.

I have to agree. I just rooted my SGN2 from Sprint and tried out two ROM's that are readily available. One was Jelly Bomb and one was from or called Phantom Hack. With the later, it was much like the OEM ROM except I kept having troubles syncing with my gMail account. I tried out Jelly Bomb and though I'm not crazy about a lot of blue, it is fast, clean of the bloatware and so far, error free through everything I have tried. I am hoping that I can WiFi Tether. Other than that, and I'm new to Rooting, Rooting the SGN2 was easy and putting on this rom was a piece of cake! I was extremely pleased I did not loose any data in the process.

He is actually working on wiFi tether right now as we speak. There should be a new release within the next few days.....

Version 10 is up and 11 is soon to drop. Wifi tether DOES work and it works WELL. Make sure you're not using connection optimizer. I was and it was dropping tether ever 5-10 minutes.

I'm on V10.2 and LOVING it! Works great and fast as hell! Wi-Fi tether took some work though. I had to install a diff version of the tether app and tweak the settings a bit (can provide details if anyone is interested).

And right now I'm at about 20 hours up and still over 50% battery life remaining! This thing is a beast!

My one complaint is not with the phone itself, but with Samsung. The whole 'hardware ID not found' nonsense. To which my best answer so far has been to uninstall and forget about Samsung's software and just install with generic MS drivers. Works like a charm. I can access the phone's storage again. Hurray for Samsung dropping the ball!

And so far I've seen only 2 issues with Jellybomb. First, (and this is really not an issue for me personally) the Paper Artist app won't open. But I never used it anyway, so no big deal (though that appears to be fixed in v11). Second, Swype. There is no built in Swype, and getting a version that works (and will allow you to save words to dictionary!) is a little tricky. I ended up having to get a version made for Honeycomb, so, being a tabley keyboard, doesn't work so well in portrait view.

But other than that minor annoyance, fantastic Rom and I'd recommend it to anyone!

The battery life is totally off the hook. I left my WiFi tether on over the past weekend by accident and still had 30% left on Monday morning. My last charge was on Thursday night/ Friday morning. This is a spare phone for me. Its main use is to keep my laptop connected to the net while its docked in my work van. Other than that, I don't use it for much else, lol.

Yeah, I installed this two days ago and I am amazed. Its been a while since I've downloaded a rom that does so much and performs well above what I expected.

The dev is constantly updating this thing and on each new version its like Christmas all over again. kudos to him and the folks that worked with him getting this awesome work done.

hows it going i just flashed to v11 Jellybomb but my pandora is now not working i was just woundering it any one else is having this same problem... or if any one would know ho to fix this..ps im a noob to rooting this was my 1st time installing a rom now im lost lol... so any help on jelly bomb would be cool thanks

I didn't see any known issues listed. Have you tried uninstalling it then reinstalling?

Also, make sure you wiped dalvik and cache.

OK so maybe someone has asked already, but is there a user's guide/manual on how to use this?
How do you split the screen?
How do you run multiple apps?
How do you navigate through running apps?
How do you change the descriptions of apps that appear on the listing?
How do you skin/theme the display? Can we get this to look like the stock ROM?
etc. etc.

Thanks for any feedback and info.

is anyone else having an issue of the auto rotate screen NOT locking???? it keeps rotating on me when im laying in bed and i cant get some of my options to check/uncheck, and though my auto-rotate button checks and unchecks, the screen still switches between landscape and portrait.. any thoughts?

Most of the custom ROM have the treve mod tether built in. As for ROMs I recommend Whompasaurus and Macks All Star on the touch wiz side and Carbon and Tattoboys version on carbon on the AOSP side
