With the awesome weather lately I've been gardening like crazy. Just out of sheer curiosity, are there any gardening apps out there?

I'm not really concerned about what they can/can't do; I'm just curious to see what's out there (if anything).

I've searched this forum and the market and didn't really come up with anything. I only found Farmville-like apps... Because that's totally the same, am I right? :p

Thanks!

Thanks tisti! :)

I actually did see this one in the market when I was searching, but didn't download it based on the more recent reviews. It's actually a really good app, even if it doesn't have a huge variety of vegetables available. It has the vast majority of things I've recently sown in my greenhouse/sun room/conservatory so yay!

buddy, i usually use two online gardening sites/resources for my garden prototypes and experiments:
1. applegategardens.co.uk
2. smallblueprinter.com/garden/planner.html
,secondly you can give edge to your garden designing by applying relevant tools functionality over your design, i mean in my case i got my ryobi tools dealer to get me the online extension, by installing that extension i can try relevant gardening tool functionality. i have a budget, so it is good for me to get a trial first before purchasing tool. anyways! happy gardening and do share your experience with me! :)

I found the best way of dealing with a lawn was good old fashioned paraquat - my first act on moving into a house is to feed the lawn with it. A few weeks later I can put something more edible where the grass used to be.

I've tried a couple of gardening apps - one from the RHS but I've not found them to be much cop - glorified web browers basically. Thinking about it I'm not sure what would be useful in a gardening app, I keep all my garden notes on paper as it doesn't crash, get upgraded or run out of battery and when looking up plants I just use the web - or a book.

I'm probably not normally allowed to advertise my own app, but it's a genuine response to an open question above, and I developed it for good reason (my own garden !)

I also can't llink to it as I'm a new user on the forum but it's easily found !

ColdSnap! Frost Alarm checks the forecast temperatures and notifies you when there's a temperature forecast below the level you set...simple as that.

It doesn't design your garden or mow your lawn but it can tell you if it's all about to go pear shaped ;-)

thanks,
Ant.

We have published a gardening app for android phones to help vegetable gardeners. As well as having a calendar to tell you what to plant and when it also has some useful guides and information about vegetables.

Have a look at it and let us know what you think. Also if there are more features you would like added to it drop us a line and we will get to work on them.

Thanks for your time.
